If only Evans rode for him on Madeleine.

I haven't really seen evans ride for anyone else ever. Might be part of the culture problem at bmc. He had a charmed run with team leadership since 2005-6, it would have been nice to see him knuckle down and suceed as a super-domestique this year and maybe next but it's clearly not going to happen.

Given BMC's history and some other riders on that team, I think that other subforum wouldn't be appropriate. There has to be some other reason.

Just last year Santambrogio got 4th in Lombardy. It's not like he sucked completely. But BMC got too little out of him.

Yes, he did. He is 28 and had never done jack**** in mountain stages in his career. Nothing. And then he does this in March:

1. FROOME Chris SKY 4h41'31" 45
2. SANTAMBROGIO Mauro VIN 06" 28
3. NIBALI Vincenzo AST 11" 18
4. KWIATKOWSKI Michal OPQ 13" 10
5. HORNER Chris RLT 15" 5
6. CONTADOR VELASCO Alberto TST 15" 3
7. URAN URAN Rigoberto SKY 20" 2
8. POELS Wout VCD 43" 1
9. RODRIGUEZ OLIVER Joaquim KAT 43" 0
10. KREUZIGER Roman TST 58" 0

And then today. Non è normale.

But I shut up.

To think Uran and Henao are still to come into this team for the Giro.

And Lopez, don't forget him.

Meanwhile...

Sivtsov: "I'm back to help my mates after the accident. Sky is not Wiggo and Froome, any of us can win 1-2 races a year"

Ask Gilbert. Maybe you missed those races. BMC problem is a lack of form riders and potential winners. Evans and Gilbert have praised the culture at the team and Evans would not be the easiest guy to please. They just need a few results.

Astana are clearly in very good shape, just back from Teide. Still have Brajkovic to come into the team too.

Of course results would improve things. I just don't see them coming. Who's going to deliver? They won't win a significant race this year

He was a pure domestique in the mountains, hard to judge. I mean, until two years ago he was better than Froome at least ;)

And more importantly, he probably peaked for Tirreno and this race, unlike the other good riders here.

What the hell did BMC do to Santambrogio? It turns out the guy can ride.
Probably the same they did to Kristoff - i.e nothing. No guidance with training plans, no nutritional advice, no organized training camps...nothing.

BMC's training regime is a joke. They have no structure whatsoever.

But I'm not sure if Vini-Fantini is much better...

He did indeed peak for Tirreno it was his most important race at the start of the season. But I dont think he peaked for this as this is his first race in build up to the Giro I think.

scinto is a good traine rbut above all great motivation man. he really guides you closely and belives in you. he's known to get lots out of especially younger riders. although even pozzato was much stronger last year than now in lampre, and lampre again known for horrible guiding and ruining young talents by the masses

Wiggins could easily have overtook Nibali on the line for 3rd place, but he gifted the 2 bonus seconds to Nibali. Such [ arrogance | stupidity | a gentleman ] <- take your pick.

I think Wiggo sent the message he intended to. A sprint to the line wasn't necessary, today but I am sure would have happened had it been the Giro.

Well I must admit I didn't expect Nibali to be up there this early. Looks good for the Giro, especially considering his team's performance.
I didn't watch the stage :( all this is based on what I read here. :D

such a nice win for sivtsov(how did wiggo call him one time:D?) after that crash in le tour

can't learn a lot from the trentino, guys like basso, scarponi, cadel, delfino will 100% certain be there in the giro. this is just training don't forget for most of them

impressed by rebellin, dissappointed by rodriguez galindo :( no miracle

in my opinion in the next two stages bouet will lose the jersey. only 3 minutes means the peloton smells blood, sky might want to take the overall with kosta

i would like santambroggio to keep this amazing form for il giro, what an exciting rider!

rolland also looks good for la doyenne

and last but not least, pirazzzziiiiiii!

people are still underestimating Bouet, you have to consider that he had to work much harder yesterday, without that effort he would have finished closer today.

He will have gone full gas today, he's not going to be any less tired come tomorrow. We'll see if we've underestimated him after the last stage, personally I don't think he has enough. He could well be dropped before the final climb tomorrow.

Stage 3 reminder. Now its ag2r's turn and this could be more difficult to control.

The kicker in the end:

A technical descent would help the action (?). Stage starts around 11 (CEST) and ETA is 15:30.

Come on Nibali, its balls time.
