Does look very promising, but I'm rather suspicious of the idea of having the Dolomites stage (Pordoi/Corvara) and then heading out east to Sappada before coming back west to Siusi which is pretty much next door to Stage 15, doesn't seem to make much sense geographically. Also Corvara stage, presumably descending off Campolongo, and Livigno stage, presumably like 2005, would be two very similar finishes off a short descent (not that I would complain, of course) and I don't really see them doing that. But then again we had Aprica and Sestriere as two very similar finishing options this year so it's possible.

But Livigno stage like 2005, a proper Dolomite tappone, a big MTF and a fairly long TT plus that interesting-sounding stage to Andalo do all sound very promising.

It doesn't geographically, but having a stage 15 (sunday) to Cividale makes even less sense from the sport/business POV. ;)

We've seen the Stelvio maybe a little bit too often durning the last few years, but it would be great to see them climb the Stelvio from Prato once again.

Hopefully not next year. They should do it in 17 though.

According to the above article, Catanzaro will spend 50000 euro to host "the first stage of the 2016 Giro"

Only the first week is very foggy, as I don't really know where they're gonna start. I suspect somewhere in Calabria.

No MTT again?
nope. At least at the moment there are no rumours about that. Previously Montevergine was supposed to be a MTT, but now everything points to a MTF

Stage finish in Andalo (Trentino) and start the next day in Molveno, "in direction Lombardy". The stage before Andalo will be a "dolomitic stage in Val Gardena". 3rd week.
Alpe di Siusi is not exactly in Val Gardena, but it's there... So imo we're talking about stage 19. So what about Livigno? Well, technically it is in Lombardy, so it could very well be stage 20. But as I already said, I find hard to believe a Livigno - Milano as stage 21.
A very interesting thing is that the article states that they want to make the finish in Andalo "harder" than the no brainer option (which is a finish in town after the climb to Fai della Paganella), by either stuffing it with more climbs or using the mountain paths (unpaved) in the area (!).
This urge to make it hard makes me doubt that this stage would be raced between Siusi and Livigno... But then again stage 20 will be a mountain stage anyway, Livigno or not. We'll see.

Stage 1 Apeldoorn ITT 8.1 km
Stage 2 Arnhem - Nijmegen 180 km
Stage 3 Nijmegen - Arnhem 190 km
Rest
Stage 4 ??? - ???

Stage 6 ??? - ???

Stage 13 ??? - Jesolo
Stage 14 Farra d'Alpago - Pian del Cansiglio OR Tombolo? - Asolo ITT (~40 km)
Stage 15 Vittorio Veneto - Corvara in Badia OR Passo Pordoi MTF
Rest
Stage 16 ??? - Cividale del Friuli
Stage 17 ??? - Sappada (or Sorgenti del Piave MTF)
Stage 18 Sappada? - Alpe di Siusi MTF
Stage 19 ??? - Andalo
Stage 20 Molveno - Livigno??
Stage 21 ??? - Milano

looks promising, maybe with monte faito and descent to castellamare? too sad that most of the big will probably snob the giro. i fear its gonna be aru vs. kruijswijk.

I would say Nibali vs Landa

If there will really be a Livigno stage, do you still think the route will go over the stelvio. I think you once said that the rumors say they will do stelvio - Foscagno but if the stage starts in Molveno, wouldnt make a stage with Tonale - Gavia - Foscagno, by far more sense?

Probably. But if you don't trust the part where they mention the Stelvio, then it doesn't make much sense to trust the Livigno rumour at all. Also considering the first article that mentioned Corvara, that claimed the Pordoi was likely to be the Cima Coppi... it would rule out even the Foscagno.
That is why I'm very dubious about the whole thing.

What? That would mean that eshnar has something completely wrong. I don't speak french, so I don't know what exactly is written there.
Is this only a rumor or very believable?

it doesn't say much besides what amih77 reported. 180 km between Pinerolo and Risoul. Penultimate stage. Plainly impossible considering the route I had in mind. I can be wrong ofc, but it's unlkely to be THAT wrong...
That said, I would not like a penultimate stage like that one. 20 kms false flat before Risoul and... in France ffs. After a start in the Netherlands.

Wtf noo! I refuse to see Agnello being abused like that :(
I hope that's not true, Guillestre to Torino would be a very odd final stage as well, do they just go over Montgenevre and abuse the rest of the western Alps as well?

Only thing I can come up with is having Sestola as stage 9 (Sunday), then shuffle the second week considering Siusi and Andalo should be in the third, then removing Livigno and Vesuvio because there's no time to get there, and then hope for the best :D
