No idea. I haven't seen too many 80km MTTs before.

So, what's the record for number of pages for a stage?

Triple digits for sure. For a Giro stage it's a pretty lengthy thread already though I think.

Funny that last year the guys who were fighting for white jersey saved Dumo's Giro and now they are helping him loose it.
How are they helping him lose it?

Dumoulin has been basically in no-mans land with bunch of riders that can't really help him. So he is stuck sitting with them. Alternative is to go solo and that's going to waste more energy. He has been at least able to save some for the last hour and hopefully that helps on final climb like Evans on Galibier.

It's really boring but I suppose if Lopez refuses to do any work at all he might have enough left to attack and move into 3rd overall on the final climb ahead of Pinot.

Froome is gaining the Giro, Dumo just cant go as far as him. Those guys could give him the Giro maybe, or maybe no way today againts Froome.

I'm not a Froome fan, but you gotta admire what he is doing today... Massive!!

I have a strange feeling for Carapaz and Lopez, I think they are going to show the knife in a few minutes...

Yep, tactically it makes no sense for Lopez to work. Tbh, it doesn't really make much sense for Pinot to work either at this point.

Lopez has to attack Pinot on the last climb if he has anything, could help Dumoulin who looks empty.

Best post, ha ha.
This stage is like a deja vu from that legendary Floyd stage in the tour.
But still think the group will take 30s to a minute or so on Froome on the last climb.

This isn't gonna get close to 2011. Those days are over.
I actually think the Stelvio stage from the 2014 giro has the record, at least someone once claimed that. Don't know if true.
I just looked at a few of the 2011 threads and holy crap, how on earth can there even be 139 pages of discussing the freakin Luz Ardiden stage
Those were the haydays of the forum. Freaking 2011 Suisse ITT has something like 80 pages I think. That thread had more outrage than this one.

If Lopez and Carapaz took turns the group would go slower, just as it does when Reichenbach is on the front

They seem to be holding the gap for now. Should be interesting to see what they can do, if anything, on the climb.

I think Froome will gain another minute, so tomorrow can fake a 30 sec loss.

Froome extending the gap on the final climb would be the most ridiculous thing ever.

Pinot should stop the chase. I'm seeing lopez and Carapaz breaking him to fifth in the last mountain.

they should be gaining time in these sections, not holding the gap

Yep, needs to stop being such a nice guy, and be a bit more ruthless. Let Dumoulin absolutely bury himself and 2nd place could be on the line for Pinot as well.

Dumoulin, Pinot, Reichenbach always taking time on the Pozzovivo group but Froome is still gaining time of them. Just ridiculous.

Funny to see how many posters in here raging over the non-participation of Lopez and Carapaz in the chase group, considering how many demanded non-cooperation when fx Froome was chasing Contador.

This is brilliant bike race, weather your sympathies lies with Froome or another rider.
