Imagine a climb thats so hard and long that is basically guarantees huge gaps almost no matter the riders' intentions to race or not, this is the definitetion of a great cycling-climb. Long, iconic, steep, high altitude... they should do this more often.

Not sure if Wilco is flailing or if the GPS is just correcting after the descent but this looks like it could get brutal

I'd like to say something but I'm still at a loss for words after Dennis destroyed everyone up the Stelvio.

I'm not surprised. Dennis has had pretensions to go for GC in the past, and don't forget the TdS last year. He's capable of pulling off a performance like this at least once per GT, I think.

I don't know, he might not. But then we have seen crazier things final TTs. And Tao > Hindley in TTs.

But even if its only 30s he will lose, he needs to make them up first. And if we assume Keldermann and Tao are equal in the TT, Hindley is only the better strategy than Keldermann if he can do 3:11 better than him in the stages still to come before the TT.

And basically I doubt that. Again, nothing personal at all.
Kelderman will probably do better than Tao in the TT, so he just has to restrict his losses here to 2' or so.

And for TGH to put 2+ minutes into Kelderman on the final climb, he'll probably have to ditch Dennis and climb himself. And when he starts doing that, he makes it easier for Hindley to gain time near the top.

As I type this, Kelderman's gap is growing.
