I am Italian and you won´t forgive me. but please tell me when you can call a stage a "Dolomiti stage" I have no idea where the Dolomiti start or finish
Tbh, even if all favourites (GC top-10) are together at the bottom of Giau, it is still likely to be an above average mountain stage. An ideal ambush stage, so nothing will happen.
2016 was spectacular. Sorry to disagree. It wasn't superb in 2016 either, despite Kruijswijk riding off Nibali. 2008 didn't deliver anything as well.
Fedaia & Giau are roughly 8 kilometers of hard percentages. Pordoi isn't really hard with today's gearing.
Kill me, but I fear these Dolomites stages aren't as much effort for the big favorites anymore as they used to.

Yeah, I ran through my memory and actually would tend to disagree with me as well!2016 was spectacular. Sorry to disagree.
I find myself in that position frequently!Yeah, I ran through my memory and actually would tend to disagree with me as well!![]()
For the stage this might be Nibali's big day. If he joins the break he would have a good chance with a finish after a descent.
And 2018 over Tre Croci, but in both cases it was only one of the day’s climbs and a secondary one.![]()

But then you could say that stage 20 in 2019 with Rolle counts.
Sappada was generally considered the best designed stage of 2018. Many expected Finestre to be wasted. And 2018 over Tre Croci, but in both cases it was only one of the day’s climbs and a secondary one.
Only people under 30 are so sure of themselves that they don't tell themselves they are full of *** once a day.Yeah, I ran through my memory and actually would tend to disagree with me as well!![]()

No Guerreiro to set him up for that.Hugh Carthy multi-mountain raid hopefully.
I don’t remember my expectations very well, but probably that the main favourites would reach the last climb together — And I think that is the most likely scenario if the stage is repeated. Many expected Finestre to be wasted.
Maybe there is one good thing in Buchmann's DNF. Maybe Fabbro and Großschartner will now stop below average climbers from winning all the climbing stages...
Any chance of this having route changes?
