Will someone actually try to challenge Healy today? I'm so depressed that this is the last stage of the Giro I can watch this year and it was such a bad race.

So is Roglic a lock for the stage win? *
[*Please reply as soon as possible so I can place my bet via DK and then go back to sleep. Thanks.]

Ah, Joe, it‘s not sure he‘ll win - but I think he has good chances… :) Cycling bets always are a bit difficult. Only in the Lance years, a bet on Lance winning the Tour was a safe thing… ;-)

P.S.: Nice to have you, as former pro, here, on CN forums… Always nice to read from you… Hope you‘re doing fine. Regards :)

Do these chums in the break really think they have a chance against Ben Healy? They are in for a surprise.

It's the length of the valley section in the middle of the stage which poses a problem.

Other than that, I'm going to assume it'll be a GC day. I bet Ineos will try to get Arensman in a break & Jumbo will send a couple of satellite riders up the road as well.

Or one of these teams will drill the stage like Bora did last year on a similar profile. In any case this Giro will likely deliver GC battles when no one is really expecting anything & zero GC battle when everyone is expecting something.

It makes sense.
Unfortunately it really is another boring stage. The breakaway is done. Nothing is happening in the peloton.

Does anyone at FDJ think they're winning the race with Armirail? Why are they pacing the peloton?

maybe its the same reason as for breakaway riders, theyre getting lots of tv time sponsor exposure in a Grand Tour with one of their riders in the leaders jersey.

Counterpoint: Why would FDJ give the jersey away? So Pinot can pursue stage wins with the help of Jake Stewart? So they can show Ineos they‘re just as cool as them? Why are leader‘s jerseys worthless to you?

Probably because it is the etiquette to do so and that it is prestigious to have a rider on your team wearing the pink jersey? They want to honor it.

Others teams job to make the peloton go faster but they may think it was too early on this climb, so they are happy to let FDJ do their thing atm.

I think Ineos is really, really stupid. This was their only chance to put any sort of pressure on Jumbo and iirc they blocked off the road instead of sending Arensman or de Plus up there. Now they‘re just hoping that Almeida and Roglič lose to Geraint Thomas.
Ineos are stupid for sending man up front.
Roglic is stupid for not attacking Thomas.
Almeida is stupid for not attacking both.
Caruso also.
Let's wait and see, then we'll know who was stupid and who was not.
Right now it seems everyone is satisfied where they stand, hence why we don't see any action. And to speak the truth hardest terrain is yet still to come.
