Ayuso's performance in the GT time trials is truly strange.
I thought he was failing in them because they were longer and after days of competition, but today is not being his best time trial either.
I think the Tirreno TTs have been outliers for him, not the norm. I think he comes to Tirreno better prepared because he's been flying in the 1 day races before Tirreno both this year and last year. When he isn't, this is about his level in shortish TTs.

Tarling was quite obviously off form post-Olympics, I don't think he had a single good performance from July onwards.

This year, in the only TT he has done, he put 1s/km into everyone in the UAE, and Affini has never done that. I like Affini and think he's a really strong roleur, but Tarling is clearly better.
Don't think putting a second per kilometre into Bissegger on a really particular route is that special.

Ayuso is overrated.
The problem is that they compare him to Pogacar, and he himself has said he wants to beat him.

Ayuso is very good, but not as good as he thinks he is. He's not in the league of Pogacar, who won the TDF at his age; Ayuso wouldn't even finish third this year.

He's a good rider, but he's penalized by expectations; without them, he would be considered as good as he is.
