according to cadels wife, on tv, vino looked guttered saying there is still 10 more days. supposedly he could barely speak.

Well Katushu has had a good day, they won the stage and apparently they've signed Vino.

Looks like its time to start cheering on Porte.

90% of those guys will crack and end up behind evans, vino, basso, nibali on GC but the one that doesn't will win and Sastre looks to be finding form.

Race over if you ask me, Sastre has won.

We'll see. Sastre hasn't looked great until now and his time advantage over the former MR contenders is still of the order that can be lost in a single mtf. Arroyo is by far the best placed at this point but I wouldn't rule out any of the former MR contenders still. The problem they have is the same that they faced late on today - there are a lot of guys close together that will still feel they need to keep an eye on each other. Vino will attack of course, but will the likes of Evans, Basso, Garzelli really be prepared to commit as much as is now required? They will fear making huge efforts that do no more than pave the way for another big hitter. Kišerlovski and Agnloi are now key for Liquigas, they hold the best cards for attacking Arroyo.

Evans & Vino screwed the pooch. It happens. Still a lot of tough racing to go so I wouldn't 100% count either of them out, but it doesn't look good. (For them that is, for those who made the break and are real GC contenders it looks great.) One things for sure, you can't call this Giro predictable.

Exactly - there is still a long way to go in this Giro yet - Evans & Vino are not out of it but allowing Sastre get a 4 minute advantage makes it a tough battle.

It's very conceivable that Arroyo could win this thing. I might actually say he is the favorite at this point; he still has ~5:30 on Sastre.

He seems to be a lovely bloke. His interview when he won the Romandie ITT was charmingly naive, in the nicest sense.
Get behind him and wait for the monster mountains that will bring Cadel back into the frame.

From what I could see Liquigas didn't start participating in the chase until very late in the stage. They seemed content to leave the work to the other teams.
