2nd, 1st, 1st at the Ardennes. 3rd at the Tour. The haters foaming at the mouth in jealousy and rage. What a season it's been so far, and there's still Lombardia and the Vuelta to come.

Spanish TV just showed him crying at confirming his podium spot. Excellent. Truly deserved and the emotion prove how much he love what he does.

Bala deserved his podium place. Great race for himself. Super season.

I'm still convinced it was not the best situation for Nairo, but hey, lets forget that ;)

I'm wondering how both guys will act in the Vuelta. Normally Quintana is the big favorite. Would you agree with that, or is that nonsense too? :)

Great race by Valverde, I'll admit I don't particularly like him but he is a great cyclist and a good job to finish 3rd.

I just wonder if he'll be in his usual form at the Vuelta and other end of season races, considering this was the best he's ever been at the Tour

Between them yes, Nairo will always be a bigger favorite. Overall, the favorite should be someone who didn't go all in at the Tour.

Congrats Alejandro!

I have been emotive to see you crying this strong way in the finish line...Acording to you words: this is something I have looking for all my life, this is the best result in you life, even better than le Vuelta or Lieje.

Looking that Nibali and Contador were behind, and you were helping Quintana, maybe is like that.

Thye best cyclist in the world today.

I honestly have no idea what the Vuelta will look like. Has Nairo done back to back GTs yet? No telling how he, Froome, and Valverde will be there. Is Purito going as well? I feel like the Vuelta will be a bit of a crapshoot and could wind up being the most competitive of the three this year.

Normally Valverde is always better in the Vuelta then in the Tour. But now he has raced his best Tour, i don't know how good he will be in the Vuelta.

Purito will be better then in the Tour, GC wise, but i don't see him finishing higher then 3th.

Normally Landa and Aru should have an edge because they are fresh.

In a Tour that was pretty bleak for a non Sky fan Bala Finally getting his TdF podium is a bright spot :). He was a team player, worked his butt off and made his goal. Chapeau Alejandro, you earned that, enjoy it!!!!

Mission accomplished! He got his podium, he helped Nairo as much as he could, they didn't won the overall, but complete picture is positive. For him especially

All the stars aligned for Alejandro today as I thought Nibali would be a real threat for the podium. Finally a podium place 10 years after his first stage win at Courcheval.

I can understand him, he chased the Tour podium durning his whole career but rating it higher than winning a monument or the Vuelta is crazy.

Pathetic how happy he is for a 3rd place. He clearly lacks a winner's mentality.
This has to be the most hilarious thing I've heard on this forum in a while. I actually laughed out loud! :p

The guy who wins more races than any non bunch sprinter in the peloton doesn't have a winner's mentality. That's rich! Wow, you made my day, Netserk! :D

Btw, someone without a winners mentality wouldn't have chased down Moreno at Liège and risked losing it all.
