I hope so! But will there be obstacles? I can actually see many of the WT Aussie pro's giving the race a miss.
This is terrible news. Kings Park is lovely but has dead roads in most of it, along with speed bumps and the longest uphill section is a little over 800m. Great place to train, sure but not for the bulk of a 180km road race. I know, I used to live directly across the road.

Then there's the cost of flights from the east coast, you can almost fly to Europe for the same amount as a ticket from Brisbane or Sydney at that time of year.

Yeah, they might have their work put up for them to catch her.
And then the time goes back down to 30ish seconds...

I definitely hadn't expected Reijnhout to win, but that was a great ride by her. To exploit that only short lived hesitation from CUL and Włodarczyk to attack proves she has some real racecraft. Also impressive pace on the flat considering her small frame. It'll be interesting to see if she can build on that toutochroon the season.

Come again? I'll admit, my brain is probably not at 100% right now, but I'm not sure what that word means, if it's even a word.
Maybe that'll be an idea for a thread title: "Rosita Reijnhout got the Toutochroon"

She's the youngest ever winner of a WWT one day race. I don't think we should expect her to contend for podiums in a lot of other races yet, she's so young, and she even seems younger than she is. Maybe something like Brabantse Pijl should suit her.

Wow, that's some incredible auto correcting. Especially since I posted it from my laptop.

It sounds a bit more like a title for a thread in the clinic though.

The field here was obviously not the best, and if she's in good form it might not last. Still this performance should give her a lot of confidence and could also give her more leadership opportunities from now on.

You just made that up, didn't you?
The old Frisians were obsessed with power meters, didn't you know?

Anyway, Reijnhout is from Zeeland, that's literally as far away as you can get from Friesland while still being in the Netherlands. Also famously the most windy province of the country. If a tiny girl like her can hold her own there, she can do it anywhere.

The Cadel race can throw up some strange results if the top riders are off their game - The Aussie summer showed how limited the Liv Alula Jayco team is. They'll need to race smart and place themselves in the right races to have semblance of a successful season.

Does the Cadel Evans race really only have 13 teams starting? Very pathetic for a supposed WT race.

Yes, 10 WT teams isn't even enough to be classified as WT normally. Turkey once lost their WT status because of that. Doubt UCI will do the same to Cadel Evans tho, but that race has to do something cause it just turned in a free point scoring opportunity for smaller teams. Without UCI points being important this race wouldn't even have 5 WT teams at the start anymore.

They could always try and rebrand the events as a .1/.Pro 7-9 day Cadel Evans Great Ocean Down Under Classic Trophy series of one-day races.

I thought the minimum requirement was 10 WT teams, so CEGORR just about passes.
Thought it was "more than 10" but definitely could be wrong, I haven't checked. Might do it later today. Anyways. Organization should do something about it tho cause it's just an absolute meme race like this. Not sure if it's an option to hold it closer to Down Under for example.
