Next is Cadel Evans Ocean race… I hope for a victory by Girmay, but I imagine it could become the first pro victory for Astana‘s Max Kanter. He‘s had so many Top-10s, and his first victory at the Elite Men should happen soon, now.

Also this Ocean race is a race for Germans, who win here oftentimes.

Finish of an Australian January for the guys, before adapting to the European climate, in time for Het Nieuwsblad…

No, inarguably Cycling is a global sport these days, it is just more popular in Europe. That is why I follow it ;) .

The TDU has been well supported by pro teams since its inception and this discussion is about the Cadel Evans Road race specifically. That race would benefit by being scheduled one week before the TDU. Just my opinion.
IMHO the Cadel Race should be closer to the Herald Sun Tour, and make both of them .HC (or whatever the current equivalent is). Having them just over a week after the TDU would be good, especially if the TDU was moved back to its old timeslot - normally it finishes this weekend.

In which country that is not European or established by Europeans (or whose majority culture is not primarily descended from European culture) is cycling a major sport?

EDIT: Both Australia and Israel take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. Case closed.
Colombia?

Froome is Kenyan, as we all know, but his adopted home of the United Kingdom also recently decided not to be European. Though they were European when he was winning. Definite grey area!

They're still European. If whether or not a country is European is based on whether they're in the EU, then Switzerland isn't European, and that would just be weird...
And Froome is definitely British. He might previously have been Kenyan, but now he's British.

Anyway...

Ooooh... that narrow bridge is called Single Lane Bridge! I was so confused/amused yesterday, when Uttrup was going across it, and I thought it was called the Single Ladies Bridge...

How many of the worlds countries would even fit the criteria? Nothing in North or South America. Nothing in Africa. Obviously not Europe. Nothing in Oceania either really? Which leaves Asia which still has many places influenced by Europe like India, The Philippines etc. Not a lot of countries left.
