I didn't think Jens was all that bad. He didn't get angry or clam up or stick to boring platitudes. He all but admitted that he doped, but he doesn't come across as a ring leader or particularly obnoxious about it (greedily winning major races via an over the top program, bullying others into silence, etc.).
Do you feel bad about rolling through stop signs in your car or on your bike? Probably not, because everybody does it. This guy isn't a philosopher, so I can see how he might make a rough comparison to rule-breaking in other walks of life and leave it at that without questioning too deeply what's going on around him (or going into him).
