Gran Camino would tell us differently. Was dropping Bernal for fun on a bunch of cat 3 climbs, and now we see Bernal actually doing well in Paris Nice.

Also, if we compare his ITT to the 2022 Tirreno ITT where he was still best of the rest, he got 27th then on a better setup than they have now.
Yeh, I forgot about Gran Camino. I still think Ayuso might pull it off. But then again Vingo’s new team sponsor might want the win.

Against much better competition.
If I remember correctly from the ITT in Copenhagen Vingegaard took a lot of time on the other favorite in the corners(no, it's not sarcasm) and more tehnical sections of the route. At least it's what it felt like watching it.

No doubt though Vingegaard will be better in July. So will everyone.

Correct if i'm wrong, but i think vingegaard couldn't do even better on that TT, because it was raining, and others like van aert, pogacar and lampaert, benefited for the fact it the rain stopped and the road was less wet.

It did look like he had maybe the worst conditions of everyone, but I did notice a big difference between Pogacar/Roglic and Vingegaard in the tehnical sections. It looked like Vingegaard was just sending it.

If first stage is anything to go on, Vingegaard will have a hard time dropping Ayuso... We know Ayuso can climb and with power numbers like that, he must be in an all time peak.
It's going too be interesting, depends on there individual condition. Ayuso is not normally in the same league as Jonas, as seen in races they have done together. Ayuso has been more of a spectator.

Edit: come to think about it, have the done anything other than the Vuelta?

Vaya vaya vaya, que cambio de ritmo.
Haha nah, I might now always appreciate his style off the bike, but I can’t find anything to fault him for on the bike. Stylistically, I prefer riders like Vingegaard, Remco, or Pogi (I was a huge Contador fan), but for some reason I became a Roglic fan when Pogi stole that Tour in 2020, and it is what it is.

Stole? I don’t think Pogi stole the 2020 TdF. He was never far away from Roglic that Tour and delivered when it mattered. Like Sastre 2008 or Lemond 1989.
I’m not saying he didn’t deserve it or did anything wrong, but Roglic underestimated him and if he’d properly assessed the threat level and/or not fallen short in that ITT, he should have won. A lot of ifs. Again, I’m not trying to not give credit to Pogi. Big fan of his.

Yeah, funny how a sample size of one could be wrong. Even Pogi was spewing this narrative in a resent interview.
I didn’t see what pog said. And I’m not sure what this means. And while Vingo laid a beating on Ayuso yesterday, it’s still one stage of a stage race. No reason why Vingo can’t put on a display at a one day race on the calendar. It’s a worthy challenge!
