Just to be very clear. There was no subtext in my initial post. Just a very explicit observation on a very narrowly defined scope: someone saying 'I didn't ask for the hearing to be delayed, my lawyer did' isn't, on the face of it, the most intelligent thing I've ever heard. You can agree or disagree with that statement as you see fit. Please remember to show your workings.

For the record, I wish JTL no ill-will, nor do I have any opinion on his cleanliness or otherwise. If he is found to be innocent and cleared to race I will be delighted, as it means he can get on with his career; if he is found guilty and banned on one level I will be disappointed and slightly saddened, and will be hoping he can go on and find happiness in some other avenue of his life, on the other I will be happy a cheat has been caught and banned. How either decision impacts upon Team Sky is literally of no concern of mine at all.

Doesn't reflect badly on me in the slightest. I made the Skybots name up and it has stuck rather nicely for the last 2.5 years.

Haven't followed this story. Can you give me a potted summary of why its not Enduras problem? All I've read is that the dodgy biopass test was before his time at Sky.

So it seems that the delay is because one of his legal representatives is not available, the argument over who asked for it seems pretty irrelevant if that is the case.

I'd be very interested to know who is representing him.

FWIW, in the recent past, the lawyers that end up on arbitration boards are also representing clients in other sport arbitration or even working for sports federations. So, sport arbitration has become a small club where everyone knows each other with hopelessly complex conflicts of interests.

FWIW, in the recent past, the lawyers that end up on arbitration boards are also representing clients in other sport arbitration or even working for sports federations. So, sport arbitration has become a small club where everyone knows each other with hopelessly complex conflicts of interests.

I hope he has other ways to make a living because it doesn't look like cycling wants him around.

This case is another reminder of the totally random handling of doping cases by the UCI. Some guys are *swiftly* sanctioned and return to elite teams, others never sanctioned, others pursued across the globe, and somehow others regardless of sanction status cannot ever be hired by a high-ranking team again.

No. Literally he was doing Altitude camps and the like with the Sky Ridersunder supervision of their back room team The cost presumably paid for by BC, as he was heading to the Roads Worlds as a serious contender.

His official signing came not long after the transfer season opened, but even before he was with Endura in name only.


(Sort of like Wiggo in 2009. He worked heavily with BC coaches, not the Garmin backroom team)

To be fair, most people think that there is something spectacularly fishy going on with Sky AND other teams, certainly including Tinkoff. You can't seriously say that isn't the case. Right?
