Jay Vine has won two stages and is helping. There's another solution: not going for a stage the day before Angliru.
Indeed. The fact is, this was ridiculously predictable.

Good thing for UAE that their team is so deep. But it really is the perfect marriage of a young/seemingly immature individual rider, and a mostly non-team approach of individual riders.

It will be interesting to see what next year holds

As much as the UAE wants to win stages, Ayuso's attitude today is once again lamentable. Jay Vine and Soler have sacrificed themselves for him. He can't even make it to the final climb to help out on the queen stage. They shouldn't give more teammates to help him on the stages.

What has Soler done to help Almeida? All, I've seen is one 100 metre lead out on a finish in the first week.

Who can forget the close battle between Team Soler and Team Vine last year?
I cannot remember exactly what stage it was in last year's Vuelta, but it was certainly towards the end of the third week.
In short, Soler was leading the points for the mountains. Soler and Vine had a talk. Vine told Soler he had unfinished business: he wanted to win the mountain jersey as the previous year he had crashed out when wearing it.
Soler agreed.
The next day it was a mountain stage and Soler and Vine were in the breakaway. Soler rode for Vine. At no point did Soler race against Vine for any points. Vine won the stage and the mountains.
Vine explained all in his stage winners interview. He also stated, "Soler is the best team rider."

And yet Soler took the jersey from Vine on stage 18 and only lost it on stage 20 because there weren't more GC riders that would sprint for bonus seconds on the penultimate climb.

The way Pog wrote messages to Del Toro telling him he would win the Giro when Ayuso was still the team's official leader is not a small sign of that? Or Ayuso never being put in the same races? And when he does like in Canada last year, he pulls for one kilometer on a flat road and then calls it a day because he thinks it looked like he put in an effort for the team.
What message did Pogacar send to del Toro? I tried to Google but all I found was an interview where del Toro said Pogacar told him he should go for the Strade stage if he was in a position to win it. As for the reason Pog and Ayuso don't race together that often - surely that's because they both generally go to races as leader, and there is no point sending both to the same race? Pogacar doesn't race that much with Almeida either, outside the Tour.

It was a story on Instagram where Pogacar supported Del Toro to keep the jersey until the end. This was after his stage win or his incredible ride in the gravel stage.

The only one I ever saw was the "Looking at the future, enjoy the pink jersey one". Is this what people are talking about? Because some people are making a huge deal out of whatever this post was.
