No way, exactly the opposite, it's all about team management, check the schedule, Pogacar missing 2 or 3 grand tours guy is not 27 and is already sending serious, serious warning signs..
Gets all schoolgirl when he is up, confident to confirm Vuelta, only to flip flop after getting a real race work out at TDF.
There is plenty of room in the schedule for multiple riders at UAE, can't have improv over and over and over..Del Toro can be a leader, just not by accident because of bad days and a bee sting.. Almeida can get exposure if he doesn't fall off and out of TDF, Ayuso can lead if he does specific work for Giro, Vuelta, TDF but he can't get late call while he is prepping for Africa because Tadej changes his mind. UAE's plan can't be to act like a fire department every time Pogacar changes his mind, everyone scrambling to cover new schedule.
Ayuso can go to another team and try to narrow the schedule, consolidate resources and go all in for TDF..Let's see what Bora does? Remco unlikely favorite for TDF, Roglic unlikely favorite for TDF.. Lipowitz unlikely favorite for TDF..but if Bora wants to target TDF, they can't delute the talent pool. Anywhere Ayuso goes if team is not all in for him, everything about him, 24\7 he will be in same situation as now. If you are top tier at UAE, @22 years old, I would listen to Pogacar's warnings, guy sounds like he wants to focus more, race less, sounds like more opportunities for underlings..
To me Lipowitz has to rank as the most likely TDF favorite outside of the big two. He finished 3rd in his first attempt at the TDF at age 24, and was the only other guy who could follow (for a while) when P. and V. did their thing.

I don't see what the big fuss is about. GC outcome is likely going to be the same for Almeida with or without Ayuso's help and this way the team gets a chance to win many stages. If the team really believed Almeida could win they would surely be able to put Ayuso in his place and make him work for the leader.
So why was there criticism of certain Visma riders when it was clear Vingegaard was going to finish second in the Tour? Let them send him alone next year. LOL

If I were DS, I'd chain him to Almeida the rest of the race and throw him out if he disappears again.
Maybe he's riding like this to make UAE accept the offer from Trek? Basically enhancing his own chances of success short term and long term. That would make sense to me, but its still very much a douche move. I wonder how the rest of his teammates think about him, Vine basically didn't contest on stage 7 that he won and Almeida is rightfully annoyed.

If UAE rewards such behaviour, that's on them. So the transfer fee should rather go up than down.

Well, I don't really think you gain anything from DNS him to be fair. Maybe he can do something for Almeida at one point, and well, maybe he wins them a stage more or two and increases his value on top. I dno, its a hard one.

Regardless of all that he has really shown his true colours.

I doubt it. Matxin loves Juan and even kisses him after stages. Not sure about other guys but Gianetti might get angry (like he did last year at the Tour).
I wonder if Matxin will go to LIDL with Ayuso because of that love.

He doesn't realize that the example is counterproductive. Other guys on the team are watching how Ayuso gets everything. What will happen in the next GT? If Christian or Morgado go as domestiques. Fight for stages, and leave the leader alone?

Knowing that Ayuso is going to LIDL, it's a little absurd that Matxin keeps kissing him at the end and showing his preference over other cyclists.

He should think at the future and other young riders. This Ayuso thing is a bad example for others. They know how to get all now, and if they want to break the contract, they'll behave badly.
It can leave a team in a different way. Ayuso's Vuelta is unpleasant. Every gesture...

They've won three stages, and yet they're a laughingstock on social media.

Did you watch the Tour?
Redbull, Soudal, Decathlon and Arkea had close to a full team supporting their leaders. Even Ineos had plenty of support riders.

Lets not kid ourselves. What UAE is doing means they are more focused on stage wins and let Almeida fend for himself in the wild. This is atrocious.

So you are saying that if Lidl Trek sign Ayuso, then there will no Milan or Pederson at the race. I suspect you are mistaken. And by the way Soudal had both Merlier and Remco, while red Bull had their GC riders and a sprinter.

No, I didn't, you're strawmanning.
I said "Redbull, Soudal, Decathlon and Arkea had close to a full team supporting their leaders. Even Ineos had plenty of support riders", to contradict what you said that only UAE and Visma were able to do so, which wasn't true.

UAE is 100% failing at supporting their leader so far in this Vuelta. There's no way around it.

And Ayuso is not a team player. He'd be a terrible fit for Lidl Trek.

He should've come in with the 2nd group like Soler. Or like Adam Yates and Brandon McNulty in the Giro. Would've skated all the criticism.
What’s with all the whataboutism? Soler, McNulty and Yates can all be criticised for their lack of team loyalty in their respective threads. Though you’d be hard pressed to find a at thing remotely similar to what Ayuso is doing with those guys…

I mean what’s wrong with this guy, seriously? I’ve never seen anything like that. Not even close.
