What I noticed is that when Alaphilippe attacked I think for a second Bernal wanted to follow him until he realized it was just completely impossible. Ala was simply on another level today.

I’m going to guess there was an element of Sky-bot tactics there. I remember after Dunbar’s first race with the team he had an interview where he said he saw a break to, and immediately jumped across to cover it. The break ended up going a long way with him sitting on and the rest of the team chasing behind. After the stage he was told “that was great work covering that break. But that’s not how we do it here...” He was expected to sit in the bunch with the squad and just help the chase as they ramp up the watts enough to reel the attackers in.Gigs_98 said:That was an insane effort.
