Hey JV, when USADA was handing out the 'winter holiday' did you not ask the rest of the team did anyone one need one?

So anyone else got 'history'? Hi Ryder.......................

I wonder if this thread was resurrected (for no apparent reason) after almost a month because TeamTag Trolls are having a bad day?

Hope this assists in answering your question:

Edit - I see that Klier has confessed. But I will leave this here so TTT can enjoy their day.

Amazing how everyone wants to ride clean for JV, after been doping for most of their careers

Now im just waiting for JV to come in here and continue with his mantra that we have a young clean generation of riders, speeds are down, everyone stopped doping in 2006, etc etc

Been a while since JV posted, probable something to do with eggg and his face.

Lot of ex-dopers at Garmin.

Thankfully they've all cleaned up

Funny, but accurate.

I will ignore that you are trying to talk for JV - but if Klier is lying about his past USADA/BDR can turn around and increase his penalty.

2006? Has nothing to do with JV or Garmin.

Regardless of whether or not one thinks it's the truth, the press line ever since Garmin started was 'we have a team that wants to make people feel comfortable that they can be here without doping'. It stands to reason that riders who previously doped but were uncomfortable about it would be interested on being on that team. You can choose not to believe it, that's fine, but it's simplistic to paint all dopers with the same brush - people do it for varying reasons and have varying degrees of comfortability with it.

I do happen to be cautiously optimistic that JV's statements about his own team, at least, have some truth to them. I'm personally not sure how it would benefit Klier to lie about stopping in 2006, since there seems to be no real incentive for him to confess in the first place (and, in fact, a disincentive in the form of a suspension) other than telling the truth and adding to USADAs knowledge of what happened in that time. Do people think that there's some kind of layered omerta, like they're circling the wagons tighter? JV saying 'okay guys, we've gotta tell 'em we doped, it'd be insulting their intelligence not to... but let's at least lie by all saying we stopped in 2006'? I'm curious what people think, actually, because all I really read are 'yeah, whatever' sarcastic comments without explanation to counter the simplest one, that they're telling the truth.

Well the reason for JV no longer posting on here could be two fold - from an MBA perspective he's busy doing stuff that's much easier than 240km in rain...but his spokesman, Dr Mas seem to be his spiritual protector on the internet.
I am glad though that Dr feels it's nothing to do with Garmin if Klier did or did not stop in 2006...most people would say it's very relevant if one of their staff is still lying about their own past drug use...but it is amazing how so many of the USADA guys stopped in 2006. But of course it's not relevant

It's nothing short of a disgrace that all these guys get six months - during the winter. Six months more than JV mind.

Thanks Hog, well I was wrong on USADA and Canada - so, they can get Ryder.
But they haven't, so, this must mean Ryder is clean? Right Hog?

Do you think he never doped?

By the way not even your buddy JV would commit himself on twitter to saying Ryder never doped in his career.

Hey Dig,
How are you doing?
I never said it wasn't relevant if he was still lying. But what odds would it make to Garmin or JV if Klier doped after 2006? (unless he was doping with Garmin in 2012 & 13)
The consequences are only for Klier, not anyone else.

Well I think having a member of staff who is still telling lies (possibly) is of relevance to his current team, especially in the context of what they sell themselves as...but look I am sure he found god like the others, at the same time.

the 2006 story has been discussed quite in detail earlier in this and several other threads, and since neither JV nor anybody else has come up with any plausible story as to why everybody miraculously stopped in 2006, all that is left is sarcasm.

anyway, to anybody with half a brain, the doped-till-2006 story has the appearance of being an orchestrated story, whether by JV or by a bunch of people including JV.

ow, and in Germany T-mobile's doping scheme is being investigated all over again in the context of the recent doping report on doping in (West) Germany and the role of the Freiburg-clinic. I assume Klier's doping would have come out sooner than later.

Which i already acknowledged.

Ok, forget Garmin/JV why would Klier lie about not doping after 2006?
He already has had everything stripped from 05 anyway.

Because he would be culpable for lots more and did Telekom not get caught in 2006, so to dope after that meant why stop on Garmin

Lets be clear here. No, doping did not stop in 06. (We know what happened in 07, 08 etc)

I have never seen the arguments in blue - but 3 significant things happened in 2006.
The Lance was gone, Puerto and Floyd.

The whole sport was under a lot of pressure and scrutiny and even the safe haven of Spain appeared gone.

Fuentes alone had 50ish clients. It would be a good time to cash in your chips.
But like anything, if progress like Puerto is not sustained, things will slip back.

The investigation into the freiburg clinic and t-mobile doping has just been re-opened in Germany.
Could retrospectively explain why Klier decided to race the 2007 vuelta clean.

and why he went running to USADA. The season almost over except for 3 races, Vuelta, World's and Lombardia, hardly gonna make a difference is it. Anyway no doubt he will still be workng on the quiet, just not in the car at races.

or book a flight to USA and talk to USADA and have an 'early winter holiday' and be back in time for TdU.

Perfect. Kloden as well. Quick trip to Bavaria with the family over Christmas. Back riding for Trek in 2014.
