Ryo can finally cheer - Giovanny Báez of EPM-UNE has won the queen stage of the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid, on the Puerto de la Morcuera.

Rui Costa was 2nd, 14 seconds behind, and this is enough to win the Portuguese the overall General Classification.

Is Moreno the real deal, can we expect him to move to a WT team in 2012?

Moreno is good. He's been good for a while, but has been a break expert or quietly getting on with things with Andalucía. He was 6th in Castilla y León last year, for example. He was 3rd in Asturias in 2009 and 3rd in a couple of Castilla y León mountain stages, but lost the second half of the season to injury. I think he'd make a good mountain domestique or hilly breakaway guy. He was 21st in the Vuelta back in 2008, I think he's a better rider now, he's a good time triallist (for a Spanish climber anyway) and could likely get up in the 8th-12th kind of area if everything goes his way and the field isn't too strong. Top 15 certainly possible. Top 10 is pushing it, unless he gets an advantage like Le Mevel and Deignan in '09.

wow pretty good from libardo nino's brother who is 40!

edit: libardo finished 14th and is 43 this summer. colombians know how to stay fit mentall and physically at late age. some are like monks that's why I also think rebellin will still do well in comeback

19 Renato Avelar (Por) Mortágua-Basi +8"
20 António Carvalho (Por) Mortágua-Basi +8"

This is one of the better events on the Portuguese calendar. And looking at that top 20, the future looks bright. Amaro Antunes is 20, and won the Volta a Portugal do Futuro a couple of years ago and this is his first year in a professional team. Fabio Silvestre and Rafael Silva were due to step up to the pro level this year before the mooted new Liberty Seguros team was vetoed by their superiors in Boston. And Rafael Reis is 18 and has a very bright future ahead of him.

Markus Fothen's best result since he won in Switzerland in 2008. Former Astana man Berik Kupeshov came in 77th overall for the stage. Some big time gaps as well. I personally thought the Fothen brother's would have got a gig at NetApp.
