One of the more impressive wins of the season so far because it's a surprising one. Reallly good weekend for Cofidis. A win in a french classic and a ton of points (France and Spain combined).

I will admit; I first noticed Perez when he had that incredibly incident of bad luck - taking the KoM jersey, only to crash out - in the Tour a few years ago.
That was brilliant! :D

Welsford beats Menten in one of those random Belgian .1 races.

DSM learned from last year, they are now using Welsford to rack on those points in random .1 races that end in a sprint instead of trying to win a stage in Tirreno or Paris Nice.

Tour des 100 Communes was won by Jonathan Vervenne with a pure Ekimov-like attack. He flew a bit under the radar as a junior, although he did win Ster van Zuid-Limburg, but I was heavily impressed with him last year as a first year U23. He is made for a time trial bike, but maybe he can have a future in the classics too. He's not exactly Segaert, but he's made life difficult for him more than once.

And Ster van Zwolle was once again won by Coen Vermeltfoort.

Watched the last 20km on background during Strade and it was a very entertaining final with Tietema team very active.

Shout out also to the very good live coverage (live on Youtube and on Eurosport.nl) for a 1.2 race, putting to shame many .1 races.

Shout out to Colin Heiderscheid for throwing away the bike of a rider who went down in the sprint, very classy. About 20 seconds into the video below.

Split in the peloton over in Belgium.
Welsford and Ewan in the front peloton-group.

Still a morning break out front.

Less than 30 Ks to go.

So did he actually win cause...

No way they just let Ewan do the winner interview when they don't even know for sure... Ridiculous

That being said. Ewans sprint looks horrible. Getting outsprinted by Thijssen here.
