Look at me, I am a Vegan! Can I persuade you to become one too?

Just finished having a steak with the Garmin, Lotto, AG2R & Greenedge women's teams (I know? What are the odds?), they all said...

Who was that aneamic, crackpot sucking wheels on the ride today?

Just sayin.

# love the durian king shot! I will use that one!

# 200k yesterday with AG2R and today Friday 180km total and most with Team Lotto and a bit with the Green Edge womens team.

I thought if your vegan you couldnt ride into a 5kph headwind yet I can bang out pro training with the pro riders day after day? How come? I thought vegan diet makes one deficient and weak? I even matched Elminger up the last part of Gorge Rd after 150km riding yesterday. He even said the vegan lifestyle makes sense for fitness and health and he has cut back on his animal products. He did say riding an 11kg bamboo road bike was bad for performance though. I agree but Im strong enough to ride a heavy stead with the fastest in the world out training in the hills to show people that just perhaps vegans 'get enough protein' lol!

#Anthony Colpo couldnt keep up with me for 100m on the bike let alone 100km or one lap up Norton Summit. 2 of the lotto boys weigh over 80kg so AC just lose his number 1 excuse. ;)

AC is just soft and out of shape. His dogma wouldnt allow a vegan to dominate him on the bike so he pretends Im some crackpot vs a fellow cyclist like we all are.

Getting in the kilometers, eh?

Keep it up mate. Post some pics if you've got 'em

A Blizzard after a long ride in the heat is sublime. I would be asking for sponsorship, too.

This would probably be true.

I thought it was funny, as anything at DAIRY Queen probably isn't vegan..
I wonder if our freind DR gave TD a lecture about that on their ride together?
;)

I haven't been to DQ in years !

Their Mister Misty I grew up with ..... I think they're called Artic Rush now. It's essentially a sugar water slushy that puts all imitators to shame. That'd be vegan for sure.... but who cares ... it's sublime:p

That'll cool you off quickly... and you'll get brain freeze to boot ;)

Would it ? I actually don't know, but if it has any REAL ice cream in it, then it would be dairy, right ?? therefore not vegan (i.e. butter, milk, etc.)

Yeah ... it's about the only thing that doesn't have any dairy in it from DQ. Just sugar, flavoring and that silky smooth ice. You can get one with ice cream for extra and they call it something else, but the arctic rush is the same ol' thing they've offered since the early
60's when it was called the mister misty. Grape was my favorite:) I looked up their nutrition chart btw .... it's pure carb,no fat.

Saw the other day when they were doing the intro before the Cancer Council Classic with durian riding on the back of the Garmin team with a friend wearing identical kit but with a red helmet.

Did you notice how much more relaxed the Garmin guys looked? (and the way they were all talking animatedly amongst themselves and completely ignoring the hangers on...)

They are relaxed because they are gluten free :p

RH was digg'n the bamboo rig. Allan Peiper had a chuckle.

What was the most funny was Riis's face when I said I could possibly get him sponsorship for the team.

1130km for the week and nobody dropped me on any climb. Plenty of interstate punters tried though. Should put some war badges on my top tube of the 11kg bamboo flex machine.

SL4 Tarmac
Cervelo S5
Giant SL..

#Im compiling a 'Sh*t cyclists say' video for youtube. Stay tuned.

Haven't read all 649 posts so I don't know if anyone has bothered to tell DR that the contraction for "you are" is spelled "you're". Learned that in Omnivore Elementary....

i can pretty much guarantee that if i did 1130kms in a week i would not be eating meat anymore. but only because i would be dead.

1130km in a week is pretty impressive. How many hours in the saddle was that

1130km, how many hours? Well it would have been at least 90% in the hills and rolling terrain around Radelaide so probably around 45 with an average watts per kg of 2.8.

Not much intensity except when I had to go for UCI points against the visitors on the KOM climbs.

Not many people like getting dropped by a vegan riding a bamboo bike using midfoot cleats lol! Its like they get forced to think outside the box or something.

How many of the 700 miles do you log on the 29er Druain?

Dont have a 29er yet bro. Was just loaning one. Still got the 26er Sworks Epic. Once I rode 2300km on that from Byron Bay to Adelaide middle of summer. It was an epic ride especially solo, with flat bars and mud tyres on! lol!
