No sh!t. But you still have not answered the question.

Well there it is then. It won't make a rider beat everyone under the sun, pointless taking it then really... Look for something else within WADA regulation, which Lance did, instead of getting a ban.

The question please?

Deadlift - I'm not sure if you understand this, but one example of a doped rider not performing, is not solid evidence based on history as you insinuate. No reasonable person would make this same deduction unless they were completely uninformed. Please elaborate more on why you think "history" shows doping does not work. And be specific.

Well, either trolling (weird way to have fun) or your reasoning is incorrect.

Ciao, and HAGDDA :D

Taking EPO won't make a human being start beating everyone under the sun, fact. Lance knew this.

Serious question. Why are you doing this?

You're posting in the wrong thread and making this one tough to read. If it's intentional, please stop. If it's unintentional, maybe start up a new thread so that we can avoid it.

Thanks John. Seriously, it's against forum rules to continually post off-topic. Can we get this clown removed from this thread?

Not that I have much hope but Deadlift please read the summarization here:

http://forum.team-saxobank.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5013&whichpage=1

at least read the third post with the statistics...

I'd say history proves that if you are on a GT podium you are most likely on something or have been.
Excellent information and compilation. I recommend this reading.

By the way, when did Rujano test positive in 2003?

History proves that if you dope you fail.
That list is loaded with fail.
Look at the scandals. Look at the names of the "winners"
Fail Fail Fail.

The sooner the younger riders realize that "Doping=Fail" the better.
Kids, stop listening to the "You have to Dope to win a GT" BS.

Sure, doping may make you temporarily faster - but you will fail.
Manzano was almost KILLED in a back room doping clinic for crying out loud.

Agreed, this is excellent. Have created a slideshare (in word format) document of it for reading and download.

Please let me know if you have trouble accessing it or downloading it, or if it would be better as a PDF. Thanks.

Looks like Polish forgot to change his username back to Deadlift before he continued his trolling.

I'm not so sure about this. Look at Richard Virenque. His popularity in France never suffered after his belated admission.

Not True, I'll quote somebody else on Bike Rader

You mean the same Richard Virenque who was voted the second most hated person in France after Le Pen in a poll of under 21 year old French people? The same Richard Virenque who was mercilessly lampooned on the French version of 'Spitting Image'? The same Richard Virenque whose phrase 'without my knowledge of my own free will' has become a popular French idiom meaning hypocritical denial?

http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/humour-how-astana-can-get-back-in-the-tour-14634

David Walsh also mentions the poll where Virenque was voted the 2nd mosted hated celebrity in France somwhere in this interview:
http://competitorradio.competitor.com/2007/07/148david-walsh-part-1/
http://competitorradio.competitor.com/2007/07/149david-walsh-part-2/

That led the satirical television programme, Les Guignols de l'info - which displayed Virenque as a moronic rubber puppet with hypodermics in his head[7] - to change his words to "à l'insu de mon plein gré" ("willingly but without knowing")[29], and the phrase passed into French popular culture as a sign of hypocritical denial[n 10]

The poll gets mentioned here too.... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/cycling-the-feted-and-hated-one-1105795.html

Unfortunately my French is too poor to find the actual poll in French.

Great info and compilation. If one were to add a hyperlink references to all those paragraphs - that would be a very solid history. Thanks for posting.

the trouble with Virenque is he doped and barely even admitted it despite the evidence then came back and won 7 KOMs. Wonder what he used to managed that feat

Maybe this is the problem with the sport you cheat, give a few names and come back after a year no problem

As French, I confirm that Virenque, and his family, had to face to very hard days that lasted for 2 years.
He is still used as symbol of doping...

If you want to have an idea just google "Virenque guignol" and look at some videos.

Thanks.

I have this:

2003
Clásico RCN
Stage 4 / Buga - Ibagué (195 km) - winner. Suspended for doping.

My goodness, I had no idea of this. This guy had been a doper and The Colombians were hiding him on their team.

The reason I bring this out is because I heard a strong rumor that there was a positive from La Vuelta a Colombia and that the implicated party was Rujano. If that was true then this second positive would have put an end to his career. The positive rumor came from the "Mundo Ciclistico" magazine from Colombia, but never materialized. Somehow I wonder if the UCI decided to to pursue the charges (???). I doubt the Colombians were helping him since he took our beloved Vuelta a Colombia so easily.

(A bit off topic)

More relevant than much of what's been posted on this thread and interesting, to boot.
I hadn't realised, either.
The other interesting thing from that link is that it's from 2007.
In the GT podium lists, the only riders completely clear of doping infractions, were:
Kloden
Guerini
Cauchiolli
Menchov and Sastre.....
.....then there was one....
