The more I hear of this young man the more I think he can do great things

He left Movistar and took a pay cut to join Visma
He paid for his own training camps and nutrition at Movistar

His attitude alone says he believes in his abilities and he is going places
he just keeps improving

Before agreeing with Jumbo he also talked with QS as they were looking to improve their climbing squad.
He’s better off where he’s now for the stage races, hopefully he will get more of his own chances this year and will be a massive helper in the Tour.

Good point—you could tell by his tone not just his words.
And yet his fan base consider Roglic a villain for not racing harder on the last stage and suggest that Visma is the systematic reason for a rider beating Remco. Remco doesn't deserve that sort of pointless analysis. He's a phenom and will have his moment. He won't win everything and if Jorgenson has an off race some may gleefully declare his career over like they have Egan's. One thing is certain: the best rider will not win as many more races than they do win. Listening to Remco he seemed a mature competitor and good with that result.

He said he couldn't drop Mateo and used his first name to indicate his respect for his strength. In Remco's world that would stand as a serious endorsement.
Yes, I agree. But nowhere did he indicate Jorgensen was stronger, I also didn’t see this.

Horner and Kuss might have a word on that
Oh I didn’t mean to rate him with or above them; usually when we talk about the “next great hope” I assume we’re talking about a rider rider to match the qualities of previous (or current) generations. I don’t think would use “hope” in regard to Kuss because he’s already achieved his top level.

The next great American hope has got to mean young potential (however unrealistic) TdF winner.

And as mentioned above, Horner was already old and had long career.
