Do I think Rogers was clean at sky, and is clean now? Yes I do.

Thanks for that. It's a cute reminder of the Clinic's odd ends.

When you watch this years Tour, think back to 2007 and keep telling yourself Vino and The Chicken were clean!:D

Whoever was replying to Krebs saying Rogers on dope was a major chrono challenger. Yeah, that was in a different doping age, when Rogers was solely an individual time trialist and rode for Lefevre. Not anymore. Oh and don't forget...Krebs is a MAJOR Rogers fan. Still hasn't confirmed he doesn't KNOW Rogers, so don't expect him to be impartial and not slightly biased.

Rogers doing well in the ToC is odd? He always does well when he isn't really really sick. Nice call Krebs. Nice call. I almost expect to hear people start saying Bottle and Horner were legit too when they made a mockery of the race in 2011, if this is the level of depth in this thread's discussion.

Today just shows that Rogers just can't produce the same numbers as he did at Sky. Very disappointing

Lol

Is this sarcasm?

If it isn't then i agree. Last year he was much better on the ott and looked very comfortable up the joux plane while sky was destroying the field. This year he was much worse on the itt and today Contador was looking over his shoulder every 10 meters to check if Rogers was being able to follow him while the pace contador was putting wasn't even that impressive and during the sprint to the line he was losing ground to everyone in the group.

I am not saying he is nowhere now that he left sky, but clearly his performance isn't on the same level.

It is sarcasm.

The big difference to me is this - last year at Tour he didn't have to have anything left for final. He worked from 20km out till 5km and then relaxed and let go.

Today he was a leader, and had to be there all the time. And he stayed with the best alright.

.......

Add to that he only came back from the nasty virus, he's doing very well. Will only get better at the Tour.

When did he get that virus? He was already on this form in California.

Last year in the Dauphine Rogers also finished with the top guys in the mountain stages.

Rogers up there again with a top performance .To my mind its pretty clear that he must have cheated in the pre Sky days because there can be no other reason for this rider to have left .Just shows how clean Sky riders have to be past and present .I know I have praised Sky again so If I have said anything that gets me banned for no reason Im sorry

Exactly.

So he has the same form as he had as Sky hence proving my point .

Thought you'd be smarter than that...

He had his tonsils removed and well he got better after that before Atoc.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/rogers-returns-to-tour-of-california

Since his last trip to the States, Rogers has battled some insidious health issues: first with a relapse of the Epstein Barr virus, an illness with which he's struggled three times, and then from repeated bouts of tonsillitis that cropped up after the London Olympic Games. The latter issue led to the decision to undergo a rather risky adult tonsillectomy last October.

Rogers is hoping that having his tonsils removed might solve the problems he's had with the Epstein Barr virus, an illness he first fought in 2001, then again in 2008 and 2010. "[The tonsils] could be the cause of my ill health for the past five years. Ever since I had them out I haven't been sick once.

"But it's a tough road back. You have three or four months out the sport and you're so far behind. When you start off already on the wrong foot at the start of the year, it's hard to progress and to catch up again. I'm slowly getting there. Hopefully for the Tour I'll be back to my usual self."

You do realize that on internet forums people can see what you posted. Its not like an actual conversation where you can pretend you said something else.

You do realize that right:eek:

You clearly don't understand my context of big difference in this case  I didn't mean a big difference in performance obviously..

Its useless to compare Rogers 2012 and Rogers 2013. Both are red level suspicion. I was only pointing out another one of gloins very common brain farts (when they are that common its usually ignorance) cos he was arguing that Rogers is better at Saxo than at sky based on 2 entirely different situations.

I think it's clear that Rogers was stronger last year in Dauphine than he is this year.

Possibly.

But last year he hadn't had sickness that wrecked his early season ;) So that makes a big difference comparing the two.
