Will he be one of the 3 leaders at the worlds along with Urán and Henao, or will there be one absolute leader?

henao, betancurt and quintana(not uran) will dominate global cycling and there are more coming from colombia

The highlighted shows why some people in these forums consider your views to be OTT.

Sure, there will be excellent climbers / riders to come out of Columbia, just as there will be excellent riders come from many countries, but the Columbians will not dominate global cycling.

Looking forward to watching Quintana progress anyway.

if quintana make it to second spot in TDF, he should be the sole leader. Sure uran was second spot too, but TDF is bigger than the Giro.

I wonder if the WC profile is tough enough for the Colombians.

Ah by the way Ryo, is Quintana friends with Betancur too like Urán is? In terms of Colombians not riding after other Colombians like Betancur and Urán did at the Giro.

quintana isn;'t friends with any riders basically. he;'s typical boyacan. compare him to soler in that regard, a solitary monk on his bike. that's why he doesn't need any countrymen in his team either.

For me he was the star of the Tour. He needs to improve his TT and then it would be a mouth-watering contest between Froome and him. I'd bet on Nairo anyday :)

He can make some improvements in the flat TT of course but he's always going to give quite a bit of time away to Froome. The gap was 3:15 in the Mont-Saint-Michel TT and the opening 10km or so of that weren't completely flat. If there's a 40km+ flat TT in the 2014 Tour then it's very hard to see Quintana beating Froome, barring accidents and illness (which of course can certainly happen!).

Having said that we have very little evidence to show what Quintana is capable of in a long flat TT. There was last year's Dauphine, when he probably wasn't going full gas, and the first TT of this year's Tour. That's it!
