Pretty strong field now - I guess only Contador missing who could be a genuine contender. Quite a few of the big names signed up very late - Lulu, Valverde, Castroviejo - I wonder if they were waiting to see what the weather was going to be like - perhaps didn't fancy it if it was going to be 35°C+

The Slovenian RR has a (mini) Strade Bianche like course. Profile on the second page:

12 laps of 14km with a little more than 1km of sterrato on each lap. I know the sterrato part isn't that long and the hill isn't the hardest but with the small field it can get pretty interesting.

Nice win for Izagirre and also a good result for Castroviejo, considering his crash a while ago. Disappointing performance by Lulu.
