What a difference a week makes.Washington almost beat the Eagles then get trounced by the bad new bears. Fields and Moore combo was too good for the Commanders and Herbert is an underrated RB. Dunno what a to make of Washington, they're a week to week proposition and a sports bet nightmare..............Howell looked good last week, not so good today and their defense was bad. Even the Bears defense played well.
Will there be a more watched TV game this regular season re the 49ers v Cowboys ? The hype train has been going all week with the fans and the media.

I didn’t watch the game at all, with my fiancé asking why we weren’t and me saying it’s a trash game, but good on the Bears to score 40. That’s hard in the NFL and something the team hasn’t done since 2020 against the Jags.

Speaking of the Bears, not sure if I like the pickup for the Dolphins but maybe it gives them more variety then just speed if it works out in the slot.

Maybe a good thing they didn't up and fire Eberflus and cut Fields. ;)
So, they hang 40 on a defense giving up an average of over 30 points a game. Lol

Definitely good performance by Fields - but isn't that how an 11th OA franchise QB should be performing most of the time?

I'm not sold on Da Bears just because they beat the hapless DC Commanders on TNF - let's see how they do against Detroit & GB later in the season.

Bears should be 2-2 right now. They choked against the hapless Broncos at home. They were up 28-7 in that game. I think the first half of that game was when they started showing signs that they may not be as horrible as everyone thinks. The Commanders are imo better than the Broncos so last night’s win was very important for them. The thing is, neither Denver nor Washington have elite defenses this season so maybe we should take that with a grain of salt.

The Lions look to like the class of that division, but we’ll see what happens.

But Denver has the 5th highest Defensive payroll in the league. They should be a lot better on that side of the ball.

Thoughts on some games this weekend:

JAX@BUF - Curious which Jags team shows up, but Buffalo is as good as anyone in the NFL right now (they were last year at this time too, but being best in January through the SB matters more! See: KC Chiefs.)
CAR@DET - This may not be close, but it will very likely be the first game where Bryce Young has to throw a lot, and throw deep. So far he's done neither often, or well.
NO@NE - If New England loses, they go to 1-4. The Saints have a good defense and are coming off a game they should have won, but were hampered by a hurt Derek Carr. He's throwing in practice more this week.
BAL@PIT - Going into the season many people (me included) thought the Steelers would content for a playoff spot. Here is their chance to show us if that is true, in this big rivalry game, at home, against an aggressive team.
CIN@ARI - Burrow says he feels better than he has all season. Does that mean 1% better than last week? Or close to normal? Judging how both teams have played so far, the Cardinals should win, all but ruining the Bengals once promising season. But on paper...
PHI@LAR - I think the Eagles are not as good as their 4-0 record, but have been consistent. The Rams have been spotty, but looked good at times on both sides of the ball. The Eagles have several tough games in the middle of the season coming up (MIA, KC, DAL, BUF, SF, DAL, SEA), this game could be a hint as to how they fair against those teams.
NYJ@DEN - I can't possibly imagine how motivated Nathaniel Hackett must have been this week.
KC@MIN - This is a danger game for the Chiefs to me. They are obviously the better team, and the Vikings are 1-3 - but if last year they weren't as good as their 13-4 record, this year they are better than 1-3. At home, the Vikings have to be highly motivated to turn things around, and here's a perfect game to show they can.
DAL@SF - Who wants this more? On paper SF should win, and they have somewhat had the Cowboys number of late. But Dallas has to be really motivated, highly focused here. But just as SF could be over-confident, Dallas could be wound too tight.
GB@LV - The Raiders played sloppy, a loss here would almost certainly mean another step towards another lost season, and re-build/re-tool of some sort. But I don't know how good GB really is. At times they looked good, at others sub average.

Kupp back for the Rams and they already had Nacua playing well. I give the Rams a chance against the Eagles.

Think the 49ers offense will find a way past the Cowboys defense overall.

Vegas has Jimmy back and GB have lost Bakhtiari for the season. Raiders might do enough.

Give Arizona a real chance of ruining the Bengals season. Bengals have an injured QB and the entire team has looked flat.

Vikings and Kansas could be an entertaining game but Kansas should be too good.

Flip of the coin decides the Jets and Denver game but maybe the Jets will be more motivated. Might come down to which Wilson is better on the day .

Buffalo, Detroit and the Ravens should win their games.

I'm no shill for the NFL, but I think Monday is when their deal ends where you can stream RedZone, or any game you like live, plus watch condensed versions of games (my favorite), or full replays, plus coaches film, and more on demand. $49 for the entire rest of the season. This is the deal I get most years, as it starts out at $99 in preseason, then around week 3 they cut the price in half for a week or two. You'll need the NFL app for much of it. The only caveat is that not every game and every feature is available on every device, browser, TV etc. And some of it is still stuck in the early 2000s where they'd like you to connect to other accounts (cable provider - I have none, Amazon Prime, etc.). But most of it works fine on any phone or tablet, even with just a 4G cell signal.

I have a couple of streaming services but I have one that was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago the company is based out of Sevilla and my payment is @$9 bucks US per month and NFL RedZone is on there but I don't have access to consolidated games and the NFL games have 3 options for Spanish language broadcast which is US based, English and then another Spanish language broadcast which is people translating and repeating everything that the English language broadcast team is saying..
So I don't like Collinsworth that much already but hearing it again, ain't good. And that RedZone thing at the end of the broadcast day, were they show every touchdown in every game.. I like that..
And now the Brothers Manning broadcast on ESPN2 is a little silly.. Had Will Ferrel last week.. Hard to believe what I pay for entertainment per month!!! And I stream music when I am on 2 wheels and use Amazon music lots..sure they are all about the same..

Let me tell you that I don’t want to be in the Patriots locker room after getting destroyed again. This remember when some said you could insert any qb in NE’s offense and they’d win still…

Dolphins looked good but mistakes cost them blowing the Giants out even more. If they keep having these turnovers, a better team is going to capitalize and win the game instead. I hope McDaniels doesn’t show his whole playbook and saves some new things for the playoffs.

Breece Hall torches the Broncos for 177 yds & a score (I didn't realize Hall is 220 lbs & runs a 4.39!). Broncos couldn't stop the Jets' running game & they piled on a total rushing amount of 234 @ 7.3 per rush!

Zach Wilson did alright & played a safe game until there at the end when he threw a pick in the red zone (he can't be making those kinds of mistakes in the 4th qtr of a tight game).

Rus Wilson is a joke fumbling the ball there at the end when he took off running carrying the ball out in the open instead of tucking it in like a seasoned veteran should have. And Payton should have stayed retired - he doesn't know what he's doing. The Broncos are 1-4 now with Rus Wilson as the QB. Lol.

Liked the smug looks Hackett was giving over toward Payton after the game. I bet he was thinking you had the audacity to criticize me & call me a loser coach when we just beat your as* on your home field Lol

Bottom line - defense & the running game beat the Broncos. In fact, the Jets' D played a little O and scored 8 points! Lol.

What a disaster for the Patriots. Total, complete disaster. Yes, it was Brady. But if you look back at the games he didn't play, the Patriots were never this bad with Garappolo, Brissett, even Matt Cassell, they were still at least competitive. Mac Jones, all the hype about him coming out of college, and he "fell" to the Patriots, but he's now entering Carson Wentz territory. In fact, if the Patriots don't want to play Zappe, and don't want to sign Colt McCoy, I can't imagine Carson Wentz playing much worse than Jones!

Broncos look done. As bad or worse than last season. I'm with Nomad now, I won't be at all surprised if they can Sean Payton at season's end, at the rate things are going. Their highly paid D has given up 180 points, most in the NFL by 20 points!

Jacksonville's win over Buffalo was a fun game to watch. I wonder if staying in England that extra week helped, or how much?

Impressive, gritty win for the Steelers over Baltimore.

The Eagles look better than I thought, hasn't miss much of a beat from last year. And that unstoppable short yardage rugby scrum...

KC keeps winning. May not have been pretty, but getting any win in the first half of the season is important. Arguably the best team in the AFC, still.

Bengals and Burrow look better, if not like we expected.

What a total beatdown by the 49ers over the Cowboys. Right now the 49ers look unstoppable, especially at the line of scrimmage, both sides of the ball. But that D is something. But also how well their offense just moved the ball, drive after drive. Cowboys had only given up 41 points total in the previous 3 games. Gave up 42 tonight alone. Another terrible game by Dak against SF. Painful.

Cowboys didn't match up well against the 49ers before, now the gap looks even bigger. They were totally dominated on both sides of the ball. Cowboys had 90 yards of offense in the first half. Dak was awful as he has been of late against the 49ers. Apart from the one good throw to Turpin for the TD there was little else. 49ers kept getting turnovers while they were leading. Game was well and truly over in the third quarter at 28-10. If the 49ers didn't rest their stars in the second half it would have been even worse.

Mac Jones had a promising rookie year. The best of the five qb's taken in the first round. The next year set him back with Matt Patricia as OC. What a stupid decision by Belicek. Now he appears lost. Bill is the one that needs to go. There is nobody on that team anymore.

Those offenses were also far better taking out the qb compared to the team Bill the GM is putting together now. It stinks on all levels and that’s Bill’s fault. It’s easy to be competitive with a 16-0 team or Gronk, Edelman, Amendola, Bennett, and their rotating running backs. Heck Gronks Edelman, Amendola, and Bennett could probably suit up now and be more impactful compared to what NE has. The Patriots have had some bad loses with Brady and the most prominent in my head is two against the Chiefs in 2014 and 2017 and some of the Ravens loses. Bill’s worst game at home was the 16-0 beating when Brissett started injured and now they’ve gotten worse and worse.

Stephen A laid out some serious statistics on the Patriots' GM performance: in 10 years Bill has drafted two Pro Bowlers (none active). A Punter and a Punt returner. His overall record without Brady is something like 72w, 79losses. I'd agree with him (rarely do) that he loses the GM job today and saves his job with the rest of the season.

About time in Indy. Gardner has played well in the games he's had significant time and Indy won. They're 3-2 and should be ecstatic they are at this point.

PHI is really good, but they need to score 6 more often instead of 3. Eight minute drives are great, but they need to end in TDs. ToP is important though.

SF, KC, and DET look good too (I should probably put MIA in here...).

Still too much sloppy football heading into week 6.
