A matter of hours after I posted here, the NY Times (who must follow this thread ) posted that the Patriots need to fire Mayo and hire Mike Vrabel.

I don't care how much Colorado lost in the trenches, I was still completely unimpressed by Shedeur, a few athletic plays, and many poor decisions and below average play. And this guy is projected to go #1 overall in the draft and be an NFL team's franchise QB?

IND@NYG - Colts must beat Giants for any playoff chances. Should be easy as Giants are the worst team in the NFL.
NYJ@BUF - On paper, the Jets could play the Bills tough. On paper.
Turns out Giants better than we thought. Another check for Bengals run to the playoffs. One less team to not score 30 points in a game this season, Raiders could reach that as well.

Rodgers looked like he quit, yet still wants to play next year. Then there’s a report that Wilson doesn’t want to come back if Jets keep Rodgers…

What an absolute drubbing by the Bills. But I agree, the Jets basically quit. Rodgers is finished. He's maybe back-up level next season, but who is going to pay his $40m contract to do that? They are currently 6th in the tankathon. So maybe they can draft Shedeur or Ward.

That was a good win for the Giants, especially Lock! Colts defense just gave up way too much. Giants still likely to have a good shot at Ward.

With another bad loss for the Titans, I have to wonder what they are going to do for QB next season. Have they truly given up on Levis? Do they think Ward or Shedeur are better? Is Rudolph their "bridge"?

Really solid wins for Tampa, and the Eagles. Will they let Barkley run enough next week to break Dickerson's record?

Jaguars are still going to fire Doug Pederson, right? What if they beat the Colts next week?

And are the Raiders going to keep Antonio Pierce? What if they beat the Chargers next week to win 3 in a row?

Anyone watch BYU stomp Colorado? All the endless talk about Shedeur Sanders, but also Colorado as a whole. Even while BYU was dominating the game, the ESPN announcers kept talking about them. Shedeur did nothing impressive, and the "he doesn't have a team" excuse won't fly in this narrative. His only decent throws were in garbage time, and a couple plays where Hunter bailed him out. Shedeur has an average arm, doesn’t make quick enough reads, struggled outside the numbers, wasn’t very mobile, and took way too many sacks - he runs backwards frequently to avoid a pass rush. There is not a single thing he does that stands out to me as a QB teams in the NFL will be eager to build upon. He reminds me of Tyler Huntley, Trevor Simeon, PJ Walker, Bailey Zappe, Desmond Ridder. That level of QB.
I missed the game - somewhat surprised by the outcome. I don't think the team was motivated to play. I was surprised that Sanders & Hunter would have played in a meaningless bowl game anyway. But I heard Coach Prime took out a multi-million dollar disability insurance policy for both players.

Sanders poor performance in a meaningless bowl game isn't going to affect his draft status. This past season was phenomenal - 3900 yds, 35/8, 74% completion percentage, 9-3 record. Plus he's this year's Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award winner (last year's winner was Jayden Daniels). And why are you dissing Sanders by comparing him to those lesser talented chumpy guys? Lol . With the exception of Ridder (3rd rd), those guys are all low draft or undrafted picks. And none of those guys won any national post-season awards. Lol.

The scouting report on Sanders is excellent: Big-time arm with pinpoint accuracy, 100% rating in medium to long-range passing, above-average athleticism & playmaking ability. Player comparison & similarity-level to that of Penix Jr, Nix & McCarthy. Top 3 OA pick. "Projected as a day-1 starter with potential to develope into a franchise QB."

Sanders is the real deal. You'll see his skills at the Combine or pro day. I've got him ahead of Ward & Milroe which, IMO, are the only top QBs in this upcoming draft (maybe Ewers & Dart could move up with a good showing at the Combine/Pro day). Remember last year I said Daniels was the best QB in the draft & should have been taken over Williams. Look at what Daniels has done this year & he'll probably be ROY. The year before I said Stroud was the real deal. Sanders is the top guy this year.

Why won't the Raiders go with O'Connell & develop him as the franchise QB? He's got decent size & a NFL-caliber arm. He had impressive stats & threw the ball well at Purdue (2x All-Big 10). He looked good in the win today against the Saints. So what if he's only a 3rd rounder - they can go either way as franchise QBs or career backups.

Big win by the Vikings to set us up for a “playoff”game in Detroit!! The whole team looked great and playing solid football. Winning next week and keeping the one is better than playing and having more injured only to drop to the fifth. It’ll be curious if Lions rest their starters or have them play a limited amount tomorrow to ensure no further injuries. Packers shot themselves in the foot not going for the field goal but Vikings most likely win on the final drive regardless. Packers were out played majority of the game.

Dolphins keeping their playoff hope alive, which is nice, but they’re just going to get trounced by Buffalo in the Wildcard. Still hope the Bengals make it but that they would have gotten the 5th seed if things went their way a couple weeks ago.

Falcons are taking it to Commanders so far. In the playoffs I think Bucs would be more dangerous, especially against the Eagles but you never know.

How's that going to happen if the Broncos have all but locked up the final WC spot? The Bronco's starters playing KC's reserves? Lol. And you wonder how motivated the reserves will be considering a lot of them play on special teams & also don't want to get hurt in a meaningless game.

Game hasn’t been played yet, Chiefs still have a chance to win even with their backups. It isn’t like Wentz is a scrub while their defense should still be good. Bengals also serve a better chance to knock off the Bills than the Broncos do and the Bengals defense is worse than the Broncos/Bills. 4th-7th seed is going to Arrowhead in the divisional with the Chargers or Bengals, and then Broncos having the best chance to win, albeit Chiefs should be a touchdown favorite.

If you mean the fifth seed they needed Steelers, Broncos, and Chargers to lose some more games.

You're trolling Shadow - nice try. Chiefs have a chance to win with their backups? Yeah right. No Gunslinger, no Kelce, no Pacheco, no Worthy, no Jones, no Bolton, no McDuffie, etc. And Wentz? C'mon he's terrible - he couldn't even make backup with the Rams as McVay didn't invite him back after last season. Lol. The Broncos had the KC "starters" beat in the 1st game if it wasn't for the blocked FG. You probably watched the game. I know you're trolling me because we got into that slugout over the Mahomes "game manager" BS.

What a gritty, tough afternoon game. By the time Green Bay got it going, it was too late. Really impressed by both teams, especially Minnesota. The Vikings go to Detroit next week, a rematch of a week 7 game where the Viks were 5-0 and Lions 4-1. People thought the Vikings were lucky at that point, but the Lions only beat them by 2 points. Lions have lost several players since that time.

I missed the game
I suggest you watch it. I call total BS that it was meaningless, like they didn't care about the game, didn't try hard. A ridiculous excuse for why he played so poorly.

One doesn't need to be a great NFL prospect to win the Unitas award. Just better than other nominees. Let's look at who else won: Max Duggan, Kenny Pickett, Mac Jones, Mason Rudolph, Gardner Minshew, Connor Cook. Hardly HOF generational talent that teams are built upon.

Again, watch the game. Hell, just watch the highlights. Lowlights really. I stand by what I wrote before about him.

This I agree completely with. In fact, I wanted the team to start him the entire season, but for whatever the reason Pierce went with Minshew, who showed why he's a career back-up, despite his Unitas award. O'Connell also has a really good head on his shoulders.

I died a thousand times tonight watching the commanders.
Dogs, cats, neighbors all must have assumed that I was being attacked or attacking someone or something!! I was yelling at the TV for half an hour.. Both quarterbacks have absolute rifles for arms..kicker looked like he was last guy at the adoption agency when his field goal try was a few feet short!!
Super fun to watch!! Great game and finish!!

It was meaningless...they didn't care about the game...they were not motivated to play against BYU. If not, and Sanders is such a bad QB, and CU a bad team, why then did they finish 9-3 & ranked as high as #25? Why then did Sanders in the 3 pt loss to #18 KSU earlier in the year throw for almost 400 & 3 scores if he's so bad? (IMO, CU wanted to play Miami in the "Pop Tart Bowl" with a Sanders vs Cam Ward matchup).

On the Johnny Unitas award, you're cherry picking previous winners. Aside from Jayden Daniels last year, you left out Burrow, Luck, Palmer, Ryan & both Mannings.

The award is given to the top upperclassman QB for not only accomplishments on the field but on their character, scholastic achievement, and leadership qualities. Of course the award doesn't guarantee success in the NFL but neither does the Heisman Trophy (e.g. Tim Tebow), and as much as there have been failures as you pointed out there have been quite a few success stories in the NFL (the Mannings for one).

On the field, Sanders set CU records for season passing yardage, TDs & pass completion percentage. He led the team to a 9-3 record & a top 25 ranking - the first winning season since 2016! (remember this team was 1-11 just two years ago & the laughing stock of the PAC-12). Off the field, he's got a 3.9 GPA & is a role model as a student-athlete.

Again, read the scouting report that I linked. And if you don't like the that particular scouting site, read a few others. But they all basically provide the same analysis & draft prospect as either the #1 or #2 QB in the draft. Maybe the poor performance at the Alamo bowl might raise some concerns with some GMs, but I doubt it. Just like there may be some concerns with Ward taking himself out of Pop Tarts Bowl & not playing the 2nd half. Lol.
