Is that a personal attack on people who don't like lance? Sorry man...you need to get over it.

Gee, how many personal attacks have you posted on people just because they happen to like Lance? You need to get over it, man.

Keep all discussions about Lance Armstrong in this thread, but please, keep it civil. That means no insulting fellow forumites, no curse words even if you know how to defeat the built-in filters and all keep doping discussions to The Clinic.

The last thread was shut down because certain members could not behave. This time, let's try to be reasonable. OK folks?

Exactly - we need to move on and get back on subject.

Uh, what is the subject here, apart from LA bashing?

(That remark is not addressed at you Dr. M, as you are a reasonable and honorable man, unlike most on the other side.)

Anyway, I'm sure you all will have a great time in my absence over the next three weeks. Toodleloo.

This guy weasled his way to the podium!!
And did you take note of his command performance on said podium in Paris??
What a self-absorbed megalomaniacal ingrate, the likes that cycling has never seen!
Like Hinault, I want to see Alberto "pistol-whip" LA's backside, AGAIN, next year!!
It's not about the fight for Cancer, it's about Lance and his ever-expanding ego....What a knob...
On the flipside, I've got a stack of calendars, and I'm slowly crossing out the days to his eventual retirement.....AMEN.

Ok, let's get this thread back on the cycling part of Lance's existence.

It's obvious that you don't like or respect him. That's cool, there's lots of reasons why one would not. But please elaborate on how Lance "weasled" his way onto the podium. By following wheels? By making the right breaks? By outperforming F. Schleck in the ITT? By keeping up on the Ventoux? Look, I can't stand the way Lance has dragged cycling into the same gutter as many other pro sports (the me-first, my way or the ditch attitude) but any reasonable person has to be impressed with this performance (cycling, not behaviour) after such a long period of inactivity. Otherwise, we're admitting that the TDF ain't that difficult.

I used to criticize bro deal and TFF for calling LA a cancer to the sport, but he has been a cancer to Astana, he has destroyed the best cycling team by just being himself, frankly he and JB are just plain dumb. Do you LA lovers still think that JB is a genius, because what he has done or is going to do, is make one of the dumbest management mistake in sport since Boston traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees, while I'm not calling Contador Babe Ruth, the fact is contador is 26 and can only get better and lance is 38 and can only get worse, Contador can win barring any unfortunate circumstance win at least 4 more grand tours and I doubt LA can win a pro tour stage race, so I'm not even going to mention a grand tour. I don't think that radio shack can last more than two years with the age of that team I probably fit in the average age of that team. Amsterhammer, If you're going to say you're not going to post in this thread at least try to last a day.

1- He did drop BW by about a minute, didn't he?

Yes, and then he proceeded to close the gap with Nibali. Which he was unable to do. So what the hell does AC's attack have to do with any of it?

2- But it's too late because SB got motivated...

It was not too late. Lance was too weak. And that's what happens on the race, you get beat by better riders, and Andy was better than Lance. Whether AK got dropped or not has nothing to do with motivating the Schleck brothers, they were already motivated and doing all the pulling in front. They had opened the gap and they had the strength to keep it.

3- The point is, it would not have been 2 minutes if AC worked together with LA and AK against SB.

Are you seriously suggesting that AC should have dropped from the front group and waited for Armstrong so they could all together work in closing the gap? You make me wonder why I waste my time arguing a point like that.

Did I say drop? Where did I say drop? I said "Don't attack!" So who said "Why didn't he (Lance)?" You! And now you're saying yes, he did. Dude, where do you get your facts? There's no point in arguing with you.

If Andy was really stronger, then what did he do on the ITT vs Lance? 25 vs 38? Wow, that makes Andy stronger?

Lance has Contador to thank for third

Contador should have helped Schlecks gain time on Lance and jettison him from the podium. When AC did his first attack in the tour, Lance paced the Schlecks. It's just all too much for a guy who has so much admiration to be publicly posting trash on his communication device. He could take the high road, but now it's obvious that he has no class after all.

Armstrong? I don't see him attack very much, does anyone else see him do that? I know I am no nobel laureate or anything, but did he attack much this year? I did see him catch the break on stage 3. I wonder if he and Johan communicated that to AC, because ya' know, like Lance says, AC jus ain't two smurt.

How often did he attack bw on the ventoux?

Did you follow St 16 and 17? Did he not attack BW both times? As for Ventoux, he did not have to, because he just had to mark them. He is protecting his 3rd place. But they got dropped, right? Including FS.

My guess is the real reason Contador rode the way he did is that is the way he wants to ride. He may not be content to sit in the wheels and let someone else take the stage win while he waits for Paris, he (shock horror) may actually like to winning stages and may actually enjoy going on the attack.

Contador may actually ride the way he does, not as some grand plan to debunk the Church of Lance, but because he likes racing. And I think that's a good thing that, unfortunately, we don't see enough of any more.

You may be correct that AC loves racing, but pro racing is a team sport, and he has obligations to his teammates. Otherwise he should just stick to amateur bike races if he is selfish.

This post , while wide of the mark gramatically, does manage to hit an important question (which may have been asked and answered many times already) pretty much right on the head. Anybody want to take this one ...again.

Sorry if I didn't read all 15 pages of the forum, no thanks. Also, I highly appreciate you giving my post of some B.S. web site a gramatical check, LOL. Lots of rants in here and I don't care to read all of them. I thought this may have been an avenue to vent a little. Didn't realize I would be under such strict scrutiny. The questions I posed didn't need answering. Obviously we already know the answers. Maybe if I can waste my life away here I to can read all of the posts and be as good as others. Kind of shocked I remembered to come back to the forum as these things are usually a huge waste of time.

Let me know when you get this one graded. LMAO

If Lance won it, it's awesome. If AC won it, it's manure. these races are not defined by history or the fans or anything other than these 2 guys. Try and keep up people. Lance atacked all the way up the ventoux, even if he said he only had to hold bw's and fs's wheels. Who are you gonna believe? LA? Or your own lyin' eyes? It's not just anyone who can do a 150 yard sprint on the champs elysees on a girlie bike when a tv camera just happens to be there.

Next year, Lance will be on all 4 steps of the podium wearing the green, the polka dot, the white, the yellow, the maglia rossa. The vuelta will be awarded to him at the tdf and the race will be canceled in honor of his magnificence.

The Team Radio Shlock roster has just been announced: Team members are

1. Lance Armstrong

His bike, a 1970 western auto banana seat 3 speed with baseball cards in the spokes.

I'm not sure you understand some of the fundamentals of bike racing. Climbing strength basically comes from a strong sustainable power to weight ratio, TT strength comes basically from a strong sustainable power to frontal area. Just because Andy Schleck can kick Armstrong's behind in the mountains, does not necessarily imply he should be able to do the same in a TT.
Now Contador did kick Armstrong's and everyone else's behinds in both arenas, making him an exceptional GT rider.

Be careful what you wish for, he just might still win (except the white jersey of course)! LOL

No way dude, he is going to spin the globe backwards, like superLance, and reverse time. Then, after he crushes everyone in the prologue by moving at the speed of light, he will announce that he has cured every form of cancer singlehandedly. By Stage 3, every other team will either quit or be renaming their children Lance. Even the girls. AC will be unmasked as Satan and thrown into the lake of fire.

He is Risen!!!!

That's how much I love Lance!!!

interesting point- but resuming the entire situation, i'd say it this way: the "comebacks killed Astana" -not only Armstrong's but now with Vinokourov forcing his way back into the team. I really believe that JB lacked the leadership to prevent all this mess from the beginning, and now he's going to pay the price of Contador's departure
