Official Lance Armstrong Thread: Part 4 (Post-Settlement)

I did not say "very good things", I said "good things".
However, the things he have done for a big number of cancer patients over the years have been good. If you can't acknowledge that you have big problems with your bias.
AGAIN, What "good things did he do for cancer patients"? Livestrong was/is a complete sham, he embezzled/used millions of dollars of "donations" for his own personal use, Livestrong was a "cancer awareness charity", nothing more.

If you believe otherwise, that would be YOU with the unhealthy bias.

Even if it was just a “Cancer Awareness Charity” that is a good thing and was important to a lot of people. So even you believe he did good things for cancer patients all over the world, you’re just not mature enough to acknowledge it.

I believe this forum has a rule that says that, if asked for evidence supporting serious claims, you're required to provide it. So, can we have the evidence for the embezzling of millions please?
its not really embezzling but

Why ask me? What do I care?
Ya cared enough to post the link. Do you think the views of a couple of dimwits who didn't read what Livestrong did and thought it was a research charity matter? Are they the sort of people you turn to for evidence? If their case had gone to court and a judge ruled on the matter you might have been posting something useful. As it is? What's the value of that contribution? It's not evidence, you said so yourself. What is it, exactly?

Lance spent countless hours - probably months worth of hours - visiting hospitals to spend time with children dying of cancer. I take it your stance is that it's only "good" if he cured the children? I think if you asked those children and their parents, they might disagree.

Maybe even provide an aircraft for global outreach.
Didn't this already get raised and when asked for evidence folk suddenly went silent? What is it about evidence that so many hereabouts have such a problem with?

To be clear, there was a Gulfstream owned by Mellow Johnny's and badged with Livestrong livery. This seems to confuse folk. And some folk like to use it to confuse others. What's it with you Oldermanish, a knave or a fool?

We're not talkin' bout that perfesser. This is about new monetization opportunities.
Name calling is not your strong suit. Is there a rule about lameness?

As a cancer survivor Livestrong was a good resource for me during and after treatment. They educated about the non-medical issues facing patients, their families, and those fortunate enough to be survivors. My medical team was fantastic in talking with us about my disease and treatment, but that's only part of the tremendous impact that cancer can have on those it afflicts. While most assume that survival leaves the patient happy and care free, for many that's simply not the case. For me, the survivor's guilt was almost crippling at times, and through Livetsrong's suggestion I became a mentor to cancer patients with a similar diagnosis to mine, answering questions about what's ahead for the patient, and just being a living example that you can survive and live a full life again. I'm sure the experiences with Livestrong vary as they do for any organization, but for me it was a very positive experience during some miserable years.

He did so as a total fraud & a scam & it's obvious why? So believers like you wouldn't know the truth. His entire "Good guy" schtick was a total scam.

Funny thing is, his believers STILL drink the koolaid. I bet you think he needs to be forgiven? "Everyone else was doing it too, it was a level playing field", right? Too funny. :)

lol - "believers like you"

no

I do, however, embrace the ambiguities and nuance of life

So if anybody is keeping a scorecard:
Lance lives in Aspen and Austin. Lance has hedge fund weasels including his own cash getting good returns from sports- health related ventures that Armstrong is instrumental in guiding. So his detention and demerits after cycling class were not enough to keep from a steady revenue stream. As some have noted he still is getting appearance fees ..so while his star may be covered in mud and shame for many, people still pay to see it or ride next to it,however filthy.
We all should keep in mind Wayne Bobbit went on to make porn after beating his wife and resewing his pickle in place..so while I would think that getting outed as a fraud or getting your junk cut off would be a setback, other guys see opportunity..
The only significant post I read here lately is..a cancer survivor saying Livestrong was a resource to him. I am happy he is still here to post and respect his first hand account

Why..boycott..If you see the job Gianni Bugno has done..equivalent of letting Jeffery Epstein run a home for troubled girls..if it was up to me..Lance would be the spokesperson for the new cycling union..a real union. The kind were the riders get paid. I try w all my strength to listen to Armstrong about bike racing and have it not make sense. But it does.
I see Armstrong as recovered \ recovering..
