Aspen is LA's second home. The restaurant/bar he often frequents. Having been a news type myself until I quit in disgust, I know journalists well enough. It really not as far out as you think it.

Tell it to the judge. I suppose it's possible. It's even possible Novitsky set it up because he wanted the statute of limitations invalidated.

If so, it worked. If this was a set up, Armstrong was played like a fiddle. In any case it's nothing a few subpoenas won't sort out.

That's right, billy. The ride took place on the 11th and the reporter covering the story submitted his story for the next days newspaper which would be the 12th. Much like the Outside bloggers reporting the altercation between LA and TH on the 12th even though it happened the night before-on the 11th. Get it?

So Hamilton and Outside hatched this plot to ensnare Armstrong by scheduling their visit on a weekend when he was known to be out of town. That was their best shot, the best plan they could come up with.

I most definitely agree. Even if Tyler thought LA would be out of town, why take the risk? why not go some place else? Sounds like it was set up to me, or at least some underlying attempt at provocation.

But how come LA took the bait that easily? We all know that the best way to react to provocation is to not react.

A legal question: Could Lance be held accountable in court for the version his lawyer, Fabiani, spins off of the Aspen story, if it is proven incorrect?

history does show that Armstrong can get away with even televised bullying and still get off the hook.
Look at the Simeoni incident, and once his initial macho bullying had died down and he had to explain himself to the Italian authorities the story changed to "the wierd thing was i was riding at the front and suddenly found myself alone......."
At the end of the day its Armstrong's word against Hamilton's the only difference being that Hamilton is unlikely to get a nice out of court settlement fee, which at least Simeoni rightfully got to boost his retirement fund.
