Lance is probably thinking more Mel Gibson.

Strong Australian link, really bad-*ss early roles, problems as a teen, serious female issues, substance abuse, can run off at the mouth, needs MAJOR redemption.

Then again, Gibson has been supportive of charities, rather than the reverse.

Dave.
My money's on Will Smith. If he's not available, Lady Gaga.

I realize that, but it was such a GREAT performance.
Probably his best. Maybe he could do a cameo?

And the character portrayed by lee J Cobb could be played by one of many clinic posters -
but I would pick TFF or RR for that role lol....

Each and every juror in 12 Angry Men is more credible than any witness, being questioned for an investigation, by Mr. Novitzky headed against Mr. Lance Armstrong. See Lee Jay Cobb, how he crumpled. See Henry Fonda, a strong lead juror. See his lead back-up juror E.G. Marshall.

Given the mountains of evidence in the Armstrong case it is hardly misguided.

Fanboy's on the jury will not matter as this will never go to trial.

 Whaaaat!?! Say it ain't so, RR!!

RR's said it many times before. With all of Lance's attorney power and $$ and no desire for much of this to go public he will do whatever to make sure a plea deal is worked out. For someone in his position it would be his only way out alive.
too bad though...

anyway, hope I got all my facts straight but that makes sense even though high drama would go for a trial...:)

This has really burst my bubble. I don't care for LA to go to jail and all of that, but I did want to hear all of the testimony.

Shucks, my burst bubble image didn't display....ha ha...

If he makes a deal, he still has to appear in court to plead guilty and allocute before the court.

He may have to allocute.
Ouch, that's gotta hurt ouch.

I wonder what he will say.
Maybe we should start a new Lance thread to predict his allocution.

How about:
"I'm sorry that you hate excellence"

or:
"I'm sorry that I never tested positive"

or:
" I'm sorry for you. I'm sorry that you can't dream big. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles. But the TdF is one hell of a race. It's a great sporting event and you should stand around and believe it. You should believe in these athletes, and you should believe in these people. I'll be a fan of the Tour de France for as long as I live. And there are no secrets - this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it. Thank you your Honor"

There's still room for hope that he will get stuck with a huge civil damages award. That would sure vindicate the feds. A civil trial would be public relations torture for Lance. I bet he'd settle for megabucks plus to avoid that.

I'm still thinking that the feds are going after dealers. This means Lance might be called in to testify with immunity. This is the Bonds/Thomas/Hincapie/Hamilton problem. Lance would have to face the "to lie or not to lie" problem.

Lance's application of more lawyers to the problem is not a sign that things are looking up.

I see more drama on the horizon!

It doesn't make sense that they would question everybody else on USPS and not either (a) question lance with immunity; or (b) prosecute lance.

There are usually two types of target letters in a case like this. Those that go out to witnesses and those that got out to targets. Targets get theirs just before charges are filed

The witnesses have already received theirs. Lance says he has not received one yet....that is not a good sign.

The feds might give Pharmstrong criminal immunity but that won't indemnify him from the barrage of civil suits that his confessing to doping would precipitate. And the burden of proof in a civil case in much less rigorous.

So once all the civil suits are done, ...well, I have to wonder if Linda has a big enough basement for Lance and his brood.

Attorneys for Lance Armstrong have demanded an on-air apology from "60 Minutes" after the head of Switzerland's anti-doping laboratory denied allegations the seven-time Tour de France winner tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs at the 2001 Tour de Suisse.

In a letter sent Wednesday to CBS News Chairman and "60 Minutes" executive producer Jeff Fager, lawyer Elliot Peters said the May 22 segment about Armstrong was built on a series of falsehoods, and he accused the reputable CBS show of sloppy journalism.

"In the cold light of morning your story was either extraordinarily shoddy, to the point of being reckless and unprofessional, or a vicious hit-and-run job," Peters wrote. "In either case, a categorical on-air apology is required."

CBS News spokesman Kevin Tedesco said Wednesday he couldn't immediately comment on the letter, but said: "We consider this the most thorough investigation into doping in the sport of cycling ever done."
