I don't hate him at all. He's a interesting character to examine.

I think he has shown us all a wonderful exhibition of "risk vs reward" and the inner traits of human beings.

Without him I'd have no example to show my children of behavior to avoid. No reward is great enough to risk the enviable which is about to occur. The deeper he dug the deeper he'll have to drag himself out of. It's a compelling true life fable of how not to live your life.

The worst fate to come is not a jail term but ones own meeting with your true self.

I really do wonder when Armstrong is alone what his private thoughts are....

His hate has been justified a million times if you can be bothered to read this thread. He just doesn't feel the need to repeat what's already been posted so many times. Plus he would probably be moderated for clogging the thread.

To further save costs they have cobbled together a judge, jury and executioners from clinic members only.

Cimmacoppi48 is the presiding judge.
Velodude is the chief prosecutor, ably supported by Thoughtforfood.
Star Witness is RaceRadio, with the possibility that TheHog will be called on Tuesday?
LA has MarkvW leading the defence, Aphronesis has been asked to provide assistance but cannot be found?...Polish has offered to be jury leader...

11 person jury all of whom would fail to pass any pre-trial impartiality screening on their neutrality by the defense and prosecution. :)

:) I would've liked to have sat next to Ol' Po' and behind Dr. M so I can peep over into his notes. And when RR and TheHog testify, I'd turn around to ChrisE and say "You heard that!?!!!!" :) :)

Without him I'd have no example to show my children of behavior to avoid.

Really? No one? No murderers, rapists, muggers, wall street crooks, corrupt politicians? Boy, you place a lot of stock in one ex bike racer.

No reward is great enough to risk the enviable which is about to occur.
The enviable? Maybe you meant inevitable? I'll assume you meant that since so many here seem to feel quite assured that LA is going to be prosecuted and convicted. I'm not so sure I'd say so one way or another since there is a lot that I don't think anyone who posts here knows.

The deeper he dug the deeper he'll have to drag himself out of. It's a compelling true life fable of how not to live your life.

Well, one can argue that spending you time and energy in an internet forum circle jerk isn't the best way to live your life but everyone lives by their own set of priorities.

The worst fate to come is not a jail term but ones own meeting with your true self.

Yes, many of us are quite sure we know what is in store for others in life and what they deserve. Everyone wants to be judge, jury, and executioner.

I really do wonder when Armstrong is alone what his private thoughts are....

Generally, I may find others thoughts interesting, even fascinating (this thread for example) but unless we're talking about something a bit more substantive than pro sports all that's just casual entertainment, IMO, one's time is much better spent concerning ones own thoughts and actions. YMMV.

Rape, murder etc. the crime is obvious and requires little explanation. Armstrong's crimes are subtle and hidden behind the guise of "winning". It provides a valuable lesson to many. We are not ranking crimes as you imply.

If this forum is a "circle jerk" as you suggest then are you not partipating in said activity? Or are you above all this and only post outside the defined circle jerk threshholds? Don't be so silly.

I'm glad you find others thoughts interesting, even fascinating. Which leads me to believe its not the "circle jerk" as you described. Careful of the contradiction. Gets you every time.

No one here is determining the case of the People vs. Armstrong. We're discussing the various intricacies of the man, the story and the probable upcoming trial. To not discuss and snuff out free speech would be un-American. If a person enjoys the celebration of their victories with the public then they shall stand in front of the same group and prepare to be judged when it is found they cheated. Not unfair.

I joined this thread some 9,029 posts ago, so yes I've been reading it. I just like the simple " I hate Armstrong " We've all got reasons either for or against LA. Ya he might get in trouble for posting a 1,000,000 reasons for his animosity towards LA. A million, I mean like 1,000,000 reasons, are you sure your not exhagerating the truth there a little. If we take 75% of 9312 posts in this thread we get roughly 7,000 and dividing that by your 1,000,000 reasons to hate LA we get about 143 reasons to hate LA per a post !!! Thats only the hate posts of course, and I'm giving you 75 % of the total posts. a million are you sure ????

He was able to make a positive test go away I think at the Tour de Suisse in 2001 or 2002 with a personal meeting at the UCI offices along with his director sportif.

Remember the Hamilton interview on "60 Minutes", or do we have to keep repeating the same things to you guys over and over again?

Nice try. Grasping at straws is all you guys have left.

Anyways, have a Happy New Year, everyone!!! See you guys come indictment time!!!

I never said anything about the TdS positive; I just said you don't know the depths of coverups of positives, and gave AC as an example it was more than just LA. How you replied above to that post is something that you probably need to get looked into. Good luck.

Ah, the old "CONTADOR DID IT TOO!!!" defense. Sorry but that is for another thread.

We are talking about your hero, and I see going into the New Year the Livestrong Branch Davidians have no intentions of letting go of their undying, unquestioning love for their leader. Jim Jones would have been proud of your dedication.

And a tip right back for not being one of those who posts here in the "I am not an Armstrong fan, but..." style. You support him period. I wish more were like you.

Berzin your new angle Branch Davidians,Jim Jones, the sprinkle of David Koresh is a new all time low.
On the LiveStrong site the people look pretty normal and happy at their jobs. Not really cult members but regular family people working at a 501C3 with a building and working conditions that would be good for most people.

Maybe the date change caught you up. Contador is in the trial phase of a positive drug test. Armstrong has not been charged or tried for any drug use both during his 20 years of racing and now after retiring.
I know its fun to skip to the juicy part but you will just have to wait on making your "visions" enter reality. I didn't know Mr.Jones was still making cool aid.
I hope you rode today because the weather has been pretty good.
There is a small banner hanging in the back of Parkside, Landis looks pretty chill in the photos,it might be enough to calm your hate for Lance for a day.

Doubtful lol. I just point out the UCI is doubtfully squeaky clean outside of LA shenanigans, and use AC as an example. Nothing more, nothing less.

Apparently, in the deluded world of the hypocritical doper avatar/username rabid hate crowd this means I am trying to change the subject to "AC did it too!" to deflect things from my "hero".

FF, don't even try to reason with this berzin fellow. I make a mistake of responding to one of his posts every few weeks, and those are minutes in my life that are totally wasted.

I wonder what you guys are going to do when the day of reckoning comes.

For the record, I don't care if Armstrong goes to jail. I just want him exposed.

And he will. Think of the investigation as that huge, round boulder chasing Indiana Jones through the tunnel.

It's going to run you guys over just like it will Lance.

Berzin that day may come. Everybody in the sport then and now has a reason for blood monitoring and needles. I don't doubt that Pharmstrong got high test B12. But the state of the sport can't rest on his shoulders. As-hole, ego maniac without question but Jim Jones? He has to live with lots of skeletons from a Polaroid or some none digital laying around that may depict a coffee table covered with something other than pizza boxes and empty Cytomax cups. But if he doesn't get in serious trouble that doesn't make you wrong. He just was at the right place at the right time. All my cracks about Landis don't mean he is a bigger doper than the next guy only he was pinched.
Speeders on the freeway, 100's drive by the one unlucky guy getting a ticket for
what everybody else is getting fined for in real time.

If Lance has to ride rollers to raise cash I hope he picks a better spot.

I thought Armstrong already was exposed as a doper. The evidence is pretty overwhelming, isn't it? What more do you need?

I consider that the Judge, Cimmacoppi48, should issue a questionnaire to all potential jurors like occurred in the Barry Bonds case.

Think just contributions to this forum would serve to disqualify the whole list! :)

Nice try, but of course Armstrong wasn't just a doper.

What more is needed? How about, the full level of his fraud and deceit is exposed, accepted and admitted.

 Q:31 onward would have me disqualified. Will have to settle on being an armchair juror. A pity. I was really looking forward to:

Shaking my head during certain testimonies.
Murmuring "Hmmph!! Just imagine!" and other useful phrases during the trial.
Asking for the court stenog's printout of the days' proceedings...just to make sure that we, the jury, (ooh I like that!) don't miss anything.

Ah, Mark - I just told you.
I know you have this hope that this is all magically going to go away. It won't.

Magical thinking is exactly what cult members are indoctrinated with, and what they must engage in on a daily basis lest their enthusiasm wane.

Magical thinking is also the driving force behind the hold a particular personality has over his flock. Without it, the personality becomes irrelevant. This is why we were bombarded with instances of how Armstrong worked harder than every other rider during his Tour years.

This allowed him a peculiar sort of unspoken moral superiority that became a cornerstone of his mythology. And we must not forget all those vague, cryptic, and blurry details of his extraordinary physiology (another facet of his success), details which proved to be falsely achieved by a sports physiologist who purposely manipulated the data he collected, ostensibly to hide the fact that Armstrong was on a cocktail of PED's.

The type of magical thinking that makes plausible the feat of Armstrong becoming the greatest stage racer in the world post-cancer through sheer force of will, an iron determination and hard work.

The magical thinking that all the riders who left US Postal and were caught doping on other teams was nothing more than an unfortunate coincidence.

The Clinic is one of the few places left where Liestrong cult members can gesticulate vociferously to their heart's content about how desperately they want to hold on to their hero.

And, like true fanatics, they are not satisfied in believing. They must either make others feel the same way or spend every waking moment discrediting those who do not.

They have nothing left but to call other people names in a vain attempt to keep hope alive, as exhibited by the comment below-
