Also give a huge award to Gesink please.

He attacked 4 times and finally joined the lead group. Then worked his @ss off for Boom, even after he was held up by Cancellara's shenanigans.
Way to come back from the Tour. He'll be ready for the Vuelta

He was another big play maker!

I've tried talking sense in one of them. All he did was call me a w@nker and shout random insults.

These people are hilariously frustrated.

do tell more please, quotes would be cool

What should they have done? Cav climbing along while Froome ripping it up during the hills?

They knew Cav would be dropped no matter what so they probably counted on theam like Germany and Italy for some help. But today the help came to late and contained of too few riders.

Exactly. Germany threw away a medal today.

If GB tried to put riders up the road they would have hurt Cav more as the Peloton would be accelerating and decelerating continually. That tatics could have resulted in the GB riders becoming tired much sooner.

Just put a rider in the first group and you don't have to do anything anymore. Means you might lose one guy somewhat sooner, but keep three fresh ones while others do the work.

But Britain wanted to do it the hard and the cocky way.

With the way the race panned out, O'Grady was a better chance than Goss in the finale so Australia did the right thing not to chase.

They looked confused. The four Aussies came up to the front with about 10 kms to go, talking to other riders. Guess we will never know but I thought their tactics were negative especially as they still had four riders in the bunch. Still, great ride by O'Grady. As soon as Vino had the gap with Uran, I knew the race was his. You have to hand it to him. Ok maybe wrong choice of words !

I think Team Sky went too slow on the last Box Hill , 30 riders attacking ! It was quite different from the tour , they just didn't want to drop cavendish , and somehow it costs them a lot.

Must say that I didn't think he looked so good. Took him quite a few tries to bridge, even though many (less good riders) managed too.

He still seems to get better and better however.

Sometimes nationalism colors opinions big time. I could argue that Fuglsang was the real hero because he pulled big time initially on Box Hill... But just nah , even though I am a Dane.

He did a great ride and is a promising rider for sure. But blindly stating that he was the best rider of this race...? I can think of at least ten riders who were just as good, if not better (especially if we are not considering final position, which we are not, as he placed fourth).

True enough. I think the break had a fair share of equal contribution like that. Ah, bike racing!

Vino sat in. OK. Great.

Fail in the classics

No stage win in TdF

Not even near the podium in the Olympics.

What a great year by EBH so far...

Dang. Unrepentant drug cheat wins gold. Disappointed.

At leat they will take a bunch of samples and test them for any substance and then freeze the rests and re-test them later and if they find anything out of the ordinary, they will rip him apart.

That's pretty rough on Goss, given that up until today, he's always received pretty positive hype.

I would say calling Goss the third best sprinter in the world IS pretty positive 'hype'.

Australia did the right thing. Played it smart. I think O'Grady put in a great performance and deserved to be left to try for a medal. Bad luck can't be helped.

Where did 'Team GB' finish? I heard they were going to dominate this course with 4 riders. :D

Hats off to Uran. Great ride and he made just one mistake.

Yeah unfortunate for the guy. I was hoping he'd get there. Just a lack of experience really on both counts.

Well done to Vino though. Great finish to his career.
