Dififcult to see how Henao loses this with the form he is in and the team he's got.

But if there's one rider who has a talent of giving certain wins away, it's Henao
Lol, that's true! 40 second lead though seems pretty huge to me on a course with only a very short TT and one mountain- especially for a rider who is on form and has the strongest team in the race. He's even got a decent chance at bonus seconds and of gapping Porte/Bardet in the stages either side of the TT.

I agree with that. But his performance in Down Under was quite disappointing imo. I mean, he looked so flat there.

His win at the Nationals was great, but still it's something else then beating guys like Porte and Zakarin in PN.

I was expecting a time penalty. DSQ seems a bit to much for someone who crashed.

why should it matter if it was his own fault he crashed?

Nothing surer than the other French team or teams with French interests would have reminded the Commissionaire'a about Bardet's tow.

Final GC guess:

1. Gallopin
2. Zakarin
3. Henao
4. Porte
5. Martin
6. Alaphilippe
7. Bardet
8. Izagirre
9. Simon Yates
10. De la Cruz

Contador DNF

Where is the Gallopin for GC hype coming from?

8th in 2016.
6th in 2015.

Potential to be a GC rider in shorter stage races.
Neither had a MTF as big as this one.

Doing well in TdU doesn't really translate to anything. If anything it shows he has build his form consistently compared to Porte who already was, at least very close, to peak.

PN as it is right now is probably as open as it can be. It will be a real big fight for Contador's wheel on the MTF, and for some hanging on long enough may just be all that is needed to win.

Yeah and he wil be 6-10 again this year, not first...

+ he's trained for the Flemish classics this year.

Wonder why Henao did not try something in the little hill.
Probably out of legs after riding flat out in the echelons all day. Stronger rouleurs than him were dropped much earlier.

It's ironic that it happens on the day when another French rider wins the day, flying up the final climb at, at least, 80km/h ;) .

Do you take account of missed stages?
I'd say you've missed more exciting stages, than you've caught.

I highly recommend the Hammer Series. You should watch it above all other cycling this year.

That is just too funny :D
The similar happened to me too. I couldn't watch the split and the part until the last 30 kms of Paris-Roubaix because I was on the road and I also couldn't watch the Formigal stage becuase I was on holiday. And I didn't watch the stage today becuase I didn't open Eurosport and was doing something else
At least I saw the epic Giro stages

I couldn't watch Paris Roubaix because I was visiting a friend, I couldn't watch Formigal because it was on my birthday and I couldn't watch todays stage because I was working on my final thesis for school. But hey, I also watched the epic giro stage (one of the two, I missed the Andalo stage)
I mean it's not like I miss all good races, I watched the Rissoul stage, the Ronde, the Olympics and Lombardia last year which were all absolutely great, but considering I watched 4 of the 5 monuments, all but one mountain stages of the giro and all but two mountain stages of the Vuelta (the other one being the Aubisque stage) it's still a bit unlucky.

I didn't watch most of the olympics
I watched Ronde, Lombardia, Risoul, Andalo and also Corvara.
And yeah, it is unlucky.

By the way, how good is Luke Rowe? Sky actually has some very likeable riders right now IMO, I've come to like him, but also obviously Landa, Rosa, Moscon, Henao...

Incredible job by Rowe today, MVP for the stage. Henao should be very thankful when he wins this race. :p
