Yes, he was super strongEscarabajo said:Watched the stage again. Saw Pantano take some monster pulls for Contador.

he always has an excuse ready :lol:Valv.Piti said::lol:LaFlorecita said:No surprise Contador got dropped after such a tough stage, let's see his real shape later this week. He did say before the stage he caught a cold. Anyway, for the GC it's Henao vs Alaphilippe vs Porte, even if Contador is strong he won't close these gaps. It's 20s too many to each of them.
That would be mighty impressive from Porte, or for anyone else, to achieve that.spiritualride said:wow... 50th place 11 minutes down.
RE: Gallopin to win...
How is Gallopin going to hold off a 39 second lead over Porte? He could lose that in the TT alone and be over 2 minutes behind after the MTF. Alaphilippe has a much better chance IMO
I don't know about that. I would say that Gallopin is probably the better TT-ist compared to Alaphillipe. In terms of climbing there's not a lot of distance between them. Gallopin's got a bigger engine and Alaphillipe is slightly more punchy. I doubt Porte will gain a lot, if anything in the ITT.spiritualride said:wow... 50th place 11 minutes down.

Gallopin is a bit more versatile although both are punchy riders. He should be better in the TT and on the steady climbs.
I got a feeling that the race officials saw it tooShame said:I saw Bardet hold onto the rear window and took a sling forward from his car (no mechanic visible) and I wondered if anyone else saw that too.

and he's so cool and likeable!
HelloDolly said:Everyone going on about Allaphilippe & Gallopin as if Henao and Dan Martin not in the race
Both Martin & Henao will finish in front of the 2 Frenchmen on GC because the TT is not long and is hilly and because they are much much better climbers
