Nice comments from Schachmann in the interview. Doesn't know what to feel. He had punctured early and had to spend a lot of energy to go back as nobody waited for him. Then Primoz crashed first time, and they waited for him. Then he crashed again and they were already in the chase for the break in order to try something for the stage win. He seemed quite bewildered and didn't really know if he could be happy with the win or not.

what a pathetic way to win for Bora. Roglic loses and yet again looks like the real champion. in the wind on his own for 20k chasing and never gave up, I think Shachmann spent about 15 seconds the entire week in the wind. stupid stage.
As much as I think crashes and mechanicals are part of cycling and waiting is silly - even as a Schleck fan, I wasn’t mad at Contador - you can hardly tell stories about this win to your grandchildren. He beat a weak field by taking advantage of a fallen rider when he wasn’t even the strongest rider. I don’t have an issue with not waiting as I said, but it is an important part of the story.

Whomever wins Tirreno Adriatico this week has a far more impressive week.

I am sick to the back teeth of all the sanctimonious people on here saying how awful it was they didn't wait for Roglic and people are idiots to not agree

Please its sport not a tea party...you win for your team and your sponsor

No one waits for the guy in 2nd when he crashes but you must for the lead ...total tosh
The second guy could have gone on and won !!

And if you dont think JV would do the same then you are deluded

Crashing is part of the sport ...staying on your bike is part of wining ...pleeeeeeeeeeeessssssse

Next time a Bora rider stops to take a bathroom break 100 km from the finish, let's see the peloton go full gas & drop them. I mean that's pretty much the finality of that thinking.

What Primoz did yesterday was ride to win a stage & that "upset people" because they were rooting for the little guy. The fact he passed the guy so late was simply a result of the GC battle unfolding (attacking, slowing down, counter-attacking etc.).

Yesterday the strongest won, today he lost. That's the big difference between both scenarios (among other ethical cycling stuff which goes way back, i.e. "don't attack the yellow jersey when he crashes").

And I've just seen Schachmann's comments. It's a ridiculous thing to say no one waited for him after his own mechanical, i.e. he was always going to get back with 80 km left (& Jumbo didn't go full gas did they?).

I guess people who were angry at Roglic yesterday can celebrate today. It's always crap when crashes or techicals decide a race, it's exciting racing for viewers but leaves a sour taste in your mouth. But like him or not, he and his team fought till the end, hopefully his injuries are not too bad and we can see him back soon.

It was such an exciting race in the final 20km. Best racing of the year.

I am not equating yesterdays win with today s

I am equating the sentiments ...You win within the rules and each is celebrated

Again I say who waits fro the guy who crashes in 2nd place on day 2 ...who could maybe have gone on to win ?

Roglic was the strongest in the race but so what he didnt stay on his bike just like several strong riders before him
