Rob Hatch calling Degenkolb finishing the most impressive 7th place finish he's ever seen. I mean, yes he was in the mix before the crash, but it's not like it was Jürgen Roelandts at 2015 Gent-Wevelgem or something.

This is very logical though, if somebody wins solo, and has a teammate in the chasing group, that teammate will pretty much always be the freshest man in that group behind, because they will never be expected to contribute to chase their own teammate.
Of course it’s just felt like this year it’s been happening a little extra, a lot of powering away 1-2s as well
