Ok guys I'm back. Now stop the bs please. Especially the ones mentioning nationality. Or I'll get angry.

The jury is not RCS. RCS had no interest in hampering Porte. They're not so stupid to believe Aru will have any chance to keep the race interesting in a face-to-face against Contador. A 2nd place would not be so much better than a 3rd.
And if you really believe RCS has any interest in making Aru win, at all, then please explain to me why they put the longest ITT of recent years. Or why they let Quintana get away with the Stelviogate last year.
RCS can encourage and certainly cooperates with the jury.

How about just enjoying the Mediterranean universe. As for the outcome, for me it is independent of the business model, which I couldn't care less about. In fact the "business model" has IMO ruined the Tour.
So, you haven't fully understood the moral of my post.
Never mind.

And we can't accept the decision as a fair one, if that's the case.
Stop playing stupid. You're aware of what has happened.

Than commissaries suggest that fair-play, sportsmanlike behaviour and sportsmanship are all just obsolete features. By saying it doesn't meet the spirit of Law, Brailsford is right this time.

Don't you see? It is PROOF. The RCS spiked the jury's wine with nannites developed in ares 52 and then transported by black helicopter to Italy. All of this is of course paid for by Berlusconi, who has had Hitlers brain implanted back when they "pretended" he had a hairtransplant...

Now excuse me I have to go gard my chickens before Jade Helm 15 eats them.

I'm aware that you, just as 99% of observers, think that the GC battle is basically over. Do you really believe that RCS are happy with it? Stop playing stupid?

The Hitch, I know he still can reach the podium, but this penalty must have affected his motivation.

After losing almost three minutes, you become demoralized.

I don't seem to remember Contador losing motivation after losing minutes on the cobbles last year. Nor in 2009 or 2010.

But what is the advantage Porte gained? Not much a few sec, the circumstances of the race considered and knowing Porte already lost 47 sec I consider that as enough of a punishment.

It's not a matter of how minimal his gain was, but how substantial his loss would have been. It's already been pointed out that had Porte had a team mate, then a normal wheel or bike switch could have been made. It has also been pointed out that Porte had to fight through the cars to make up time, which means a team car should have been near as well (and apparently wasn't). As there was no team mate around or team car nearby, the potential loss could have far greater than two minutes, especially when Porte would likely have been chasing on his own (assuming most of the bunch still riding at tempo would have ridden past while he was waiting for a wheel).

No I've understood completely. A rule should not be applied in this instance, since the Italians have taken an opportunity to the advantage of their rider? Thus the business model is flawed, because it doesn't respect the rules of "fair play."

Sell that in court.

They are more than happy. Otherwise they wouldn't push such a stupid decision.
I've already posted that this should open up the race and not necessarily destroy it, but the magnitude of justification and spinning coming from certain fans is disgusting and makes me react.

Re: Porte Penalised 2 minutes for getting Clarkes Wheel -Fai

What a joke this rule is. Are you kidding me! Why manipulate and kill an awesome race. Porte lost enough time without the penalty. I don't care if they followed the rules. I'm sure there are other rules that weren't followed in the past. I don't even like Sky or Richie but I would love to see the battle with him in the mix till the last stages of the Giro. And don't tell me it's better for the Giro cause it's not. It's an idiotic decision. They penalized fair play. I'm really disappointed.

I love how this "race jury bias" is based purely on some of its members being Spanish or Italian. As if every Spanish and Italian person by definition is going to be biased toward another person from that country. You have NO IDEA who these people are, what their background is, or know anything about them as people. It's so fuggin intellectually lazy to simply see nationality and immediately think corruption.

Do you mean talking about RCS, Aru and Italy, or about the obvious fact that every Orica rider this side of the Pacific was helping Porte because he's an Aussie?
Everything.
Well, I'm sorry, but it is very important to the Portephilic narrative. It's not sportsmanship if it's motivated by simple nationalism.

How often does this happen?
How often is sanctioned?
The rules can be stretched in this sport to the borders of ones interest. We all know that. We've seen it numerous times.
We're not talking about civil laws and courts.

I hate the fact that I actually feel bad for little Richie Porte. I can't stand seeing his smugness on the top step of the last few stage races of the spring but wow! What a smack in the face! This guy worked his arse off to get into top tier shape and whammo...

They didn't push for anything. Or do you have any evidence of that? I have no idea how can you possibly think this will open up the race. Do you really believe Porte will go bonkers tomorrow or sth like that?
To me it seems that the magnitude of spinning you are employing is pretty amazing.
Still wonder why the big ITT though. I mean, in italy they don't even like tts. It'd be a piece of cake to get rid of them. Or make them shorter. But maybe they expect Aru to win it. That explains everything.

Re: Porte Penalised 2 minutes for getting Clarkes Wheel -Fai

The coalitions between Spanish GC riders have annoyed me for years. Glad to see this is cracked down on, even though it was pretty random it happened to Porte/Clarke.

Actually, you being butthurt is becoming more and more obvious, vs people you assume are Contador fans based on their agreement with the decsion. Just so you can put another label on someone, I am unabashedly anti-Sky, not pro-Contador.
