This came up before somewhere, maybe not here.

While I love the look of the bike I really dislike the idea behind it. The point of L'Eroica is to restore an old bike and ride that, it's like classic car rallies. Companies building new bikes to conform with the standards is just too poseur-ish/hipster for me and could ruin the point of the rides.

It looks nice though. If I was going to restore a classic bike, I would want to get all the original parts

I like the old style look but with more obvious updated parts. The new 4 armed campy crank for instance "I love that crank"

That is likely a spectacularly warm and comfortable piece of gear. My experience with Rapha gear is that is excellent, albeit a little expensive. I know you get your cycling gear for absolutely incredible bargains, but I tend to pay full whack for most things.

I actually think its a nice piece of kit. But for £350 I could do better with the money.
I do have a Rapha Condor recycling t shirt , its very nice quality.
Nothing wrong in paying full price for stuff I we all do it.
This is a trick I use to get a discount, If I buy something on line I put it in the basket ready for purchase and then don't purchase. Leave it for a while, even a day and chances are you will get a email asking why you have not purchased your product and they will give you a code for a discount etc . It works a lot of the time.
I'm not sure it would work with Rapha though.

The seat post clamp is inefficient the way it is angled. Is this clamp a special or will a standard clamp fit?

Looks like a interesting design. Does not seem to be a clamp. it looks to be part of the frame.
Very neat idea .

Pro gear? No, but I just picked up some new to me (read second hand) Sunday best wheels for my fixed wheel bike and there's nowhere else I can post them so here they are:

28H H Plus Son rims on Brick Lane Bikes King hubs (female axle, very nice, spin for days) built with DB DT Swiss spokes and pro lock nipples.

First time I've ever weighed bike components and they are 500g lighter than my old wheels, 160g at the front and 340g at the back. unbelievable what a difference it makes, made the bike feel so much easier to spin up to speed.

Only problem is it's got me thinking where else I could save weight on this bike... Damn you Ray J!!!

WTF would a pro team choose Canyon bikes , always breaking , Red always breaking , Rapha sky reject..
Its a disaster I'm surprised they will even finish a race. These pros have no idea unlike the expert posters on here .Who would have them riding steel bikes and campy record and don't forget those sensible shoes .

Chill Ray. Some of us are just offering our opinions, for what they are worth. Others like Busted have long years of hands on experience. Dont throw it all out with the bath water.

Teams don't choose bikes, they negotiate $$$ deals with bike manufacturers. I think most pros would probably not ride the teams choice of bike. Plenty in the steel era had their own frames tailor made and then sprayed in team colours. I guess most pros would do similar today if they had a choice. Wiggins fav bike/frame? Colnago C40.

As for Sram, nope pros don't like it. It is not reliable enough for the pros. How many teams use it in WT?

9lb or under. That's my aim full road bike.frame weighs 860grms including The seatpost combo. Forks enve 1 weigh 232grms .

i like that a lot

big fan of nude Ti here.....with just a hint of colour is, IMHO a great look, subtle, understated, but completely top shelf

my Ti Baum is about 1/3rd nude - i wanted to ship it back to Geelong and ask them to strip it back to complete nude, but the paint preps they do before hand means that the two surfaces will never look the same - sigh - the only option I have is to have a new paint job on the already painted surfaces.
