Hard luck on all of the later riders, particularly Kamna who coped best with the changed conditions. Not a lot more he could have done. Well done to our Gold and Silver medallists too. They may have had an advantage, but they still had to use it.

Re:

TBO had it been rainy or even foul weather for everyone, winner would've got even bigger gap.

He has very good bike handling skills. Worthy winner.

If it had remained the same for all he wouldn't have won, hard to say he's a worthy winner.

I don't follow junior or U23 races a lot so I don't know anything about the riders. Kirby just said that Kamna is rumored to be the new Kittel, but he just started last in an ITT so it would be obvious that he is rather a TT specialist than a sprinter (he also doesnt look like a sprinter at all). Was that just a typical Kirby or are his sprinting abilities really that great?
Kittel was very good in time trials as a junior and u23, taking 2 junior wc titles

Kämna is not a Kittel type though, he is a tt'er and good climber as well. Could very well be the next German gc contrnder.

Yes, he also has the advantage that he never had to deal with the pressure and the high espectations that people have about Silvio Herklotz, he has been called the new Ullrich since 2011/2012.

I still remember Ullrich in Cap Decouverte. Never ever seen an ITT like that and I have a hard time believing anyone can live up to that. Masterpiece, still getting the chills when I see clips from that ITT.

What INDURAIN did in Luxemburgo or especially in Bergerac was much much impressive:

10:37 to Bugno, not much more to say...

I cant compare that era or Ulle era to now, but if you mean performance, that is the most impressive ITT ever, nor Merck, nor Hinault, nor Anquetil, nor Ulle nor Lance...

He has plenty speed reserve upwards and is very good at different road surfaces. Doull had superb ride at ToB but they had this same difference already on junior level. Talents they are.

How do you know? the only one going in rain who was close was Kämna, Würtz was obviously at least the second strongest, maybe the strongest, rider of the day.

I expect the winner to be one of Mullen, Kamna or Andersen. Lammertink, Soctson and Eaton as dark horses.

Würtz is probably a better bet than Kragh on a long tt. Kragh is a very good tt'er and quite explosive so really strong in prologues but not a specialist in tt's like Würtz.

Great pick compared to me :) also @quiqui

Kamna has a huge future. He may have that pressure sooner, rather than later, but with both Herklotz and Kamna coming up together, it might cancel out and both will be able to handle it fine.

Who are the favorites for today's time trial?

Elite women, I'd say Lisa Brennauer (Velocio/GER), Ellen van Dijk (Boels/NL), Evelyn Stevens (Boels/US), Linda Villumsen (UHC/NZ), Anna van der Breggen (Rabo/NL). The US riders are all quite fancied (Armstrong and Small too).

Lesser sniffs would include Solovey (UKR), Kroege (GER), Amialiusik (BEL) and Canuel (CAN).

All traditionally strong TTers - this is not particularly based on form although Brennauer and Stevens are certainly looking good.

Of all the contenders, Ellen van Dijk is off quite a bit earlier (90 mins before Brennauer goes last off). If conditions change like they did yesterday, she could be hard to beat. USA's Kristin Armstrong is off second, so the same but more so.

Worrack must be in with a podium chance. Duyck is more like top-ten imo, she won Chrono Champenois the other day but that field was nothing like this one.

Weather forecast suggests fairly stable conditions across the field, but it might just favour the later starters as there's a small chance of rain early on. Otherwise, should be a lovely day for a bike ride.

Daeemn, I thought McNulty or Costa could win this one, but if we saw the former already losing 1min to Appelt I think it'll be very hard, if not impossible for Costa/Storer/Larsen to beat that time. Quite a ride by German boy.

What is it with Germans and TTing? When Martin retires, Kämna and Appelt will dominate the field for years to come, it seems
