Higuita wants to ride Giro or Vuelta as GC(?) leader. He supposedly stated this in a Colombian radio show VBAR on Caracol Radio
Well this Vuelta could suit him perfectly and Higuita is an awesome talent who just had his share of bad luck recently. I think it is justified that Bora would give him a (shared) GC leadership in the Vuelta.

Jep, I´m pretty curious for Bora´s approach for the next season. Right now I would say:

Giro: Buchmann, Hindley
Tour: Keldermann, Vlasov, Bennett
Vuelta: Higuita and one or two others out of Buchmann, Keldermann, Vlasov, Hindley

Vlasov is very likely to go to the Giro.

Too many leaders for Bora this season and no one capable of win or even podium under normal circumstances...

Higuita will need to perform well in the mountains because he will lose lots of time in the ITT.

All 4 of them have finished top 5 in a GT in the last 3 years. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to get a podium if things go right for them.
And all of them either in COVID-19 depleted season with strange injuries to favourites (Hindley, Kelderman) or simply is not near as good nowadays (Buchmann). Vlasov and Higuita are top-5 material...

Now, that sure makes more sense than your original claim that he'd be losing time in the mountains. Because if you need to take time in the mountains, because you'll be losing time in the mountains, it sure seems like an up-hill struggle to me, in more ways than one.

Carapaz, Geoghegan Hart, Pidcock and Viviani all to the Giro for Ineos.
Pidcock is interesting, even though he had already said he wouldn't do the Tour in 2022. Wonder if he'll get any freedom or if he'll be used as Kwiatkowski regen.

Ineos are gonna have people like Yates, Hayeter, Sivkavok, Fraile not doing grand tours

Giro:
TGH
Carapaz

Tour:
Thomas
Bernal

Vuelta:
Bernal
Carapaz

You can have 3 GC leaders in a grand tour team so there is space for Yates, Sivakov, Martinez etc to get leading roles and not just a domestique role. Viviani is going to sprint at Giro so Hayter should also be able to make the team for at least one grand tour.

If Carapaz gets a leadership role in the Giro he will probably be more of a domestique in the Vuelta.

Also seems to be quite likely that Adam Yates will get another leadership role in the Vuelta. I am just wondering where a Martinez leadership role fits in, he would deserve it for sure…

Lol, your list is a bit funny, with TGH and Thomas as leaders. They should be all in for Carapaz on giro and Bernal in tour. But I see your point. I wasn't really considering vuelta.

But to me it's strange how they fit all these guys into cohesive GT teams:

Egan Bernal
Richard Carapaze
Gerant Thomas
Tao Gehgegan Hart
Adam Yates
Dani Martinez
Panel Sikavob
Richie Port
Michael Kwiatkowski
Dylan Van Baarle
Ella Viviani
Thomas Pidcock
Omar Fraile
Jonathan Castrovejo
Carlos Rodriguez
Ethan Hayter
Andrey Amador
Pippo Ganna
Eddie Dunbar
Salvatore Puccio
Lauren's de plus
Luke Rowe

Martinez is more of a "if the opportunity arises" for him, I think. He is a super-domestic right now, who might just finish very high on GC riding in that role and as a plan B if the leader going into the race crashes or has a really bad race.

He was won Dauphine and 5th in the Giro but that dont get you a full leadership role on a team like Ineos. Not when there are multiple GT-winners in the team.
