I haven't seen much from cancellara either but you got to believe it will be slightly different when everyone is in national colours and immortality is on the line. If purito and frank and gesink have done well at agr i think that suggests The Great One might too.

Cancellara is one of the greatest classic riders of this generation though, what has Contador to show in races of similair dificulty and length, a 9th place in Liège?

I would rather put my faith in riders who have proven time and time again that they can be at the front of major classics. The Schleck/Gesink comparison doesn't hold much weight though, the finale of the Gold Race is much harder than of the World Championship.

I think the great one will be pretty ****ed when he returns, so a WC title i would say is plausible :p

Iirc he said he will help his team mates as they have more chance winning after Cauberg
Freire could be huge if he can somehow survive Cauberg, he would be unbeatable if he will be there at finish

i treat samu with great respect. brilliant rider, modest guy and real gentleman. though, his bowing and scraping towards contador confuse me a little bit and make me wonder if they eat from the same plate.

Do you always have to bring up Contador?

How strange that it doesn't confuse you that the Schlecks paid for training advice from Fuentes

No, that's a little detail in his image that doesn't let my attidute be totally positive, probably, even become a fan and nothing more.

We clearly know it was just a coincidence which gave rise to so many unreasonable doping allegations. ;)

He is clearly trolling.

Desperate baiting. Must be really bored.

Just put him on ignore.

i've learnt one thing from you - feeling strong about my opinion is obvious trolling in your view. no matter what directivity a thread about a rider has - appreciation, depreciation, awesomeness or inferiority - i'm entitled to my opinion and give it.

ok, put me on ignore, please.

I agree with you.
If you mean that Contador is an lying *******, while Frandy is just out after "training programs" from Fuentes, you should be able to say so without being called a troll.

Nothing to do with your opinion.

Hijacking threads is trolling.

Bringing up clinic in the pro road section constantly is trolling.

They are also against the rules http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14953

Most importantly trying to bait Florecita and Pistollero and Angliru about Contador, in every thread that exists, regardless of title, is trolling.

The first 100 times you did it everyone took the bait, but now its becoming clear all you want to do is bait others.

I said about my stance on doping many times. A cyclist is not a doper until caught in the act and banned. There's no any other unbiased approach, as far as such an approach is possible.

Hitch, are you saying about baiting?) omg, if i took seriously all the things people post here about andy i would have closed the forum once and for all, but i percieve all this utterly calmly.

You might want to post that opinion in the clinc, where someone might give a **** about your stance.

You don't seem to have found your way there though, so let me point you in the right direction.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20

Oh look theres even a thread about Contador where you can have all the fun you want with Contador fans that you want, and it will for once be on topic.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=16503&page=161

Now that you know where the clinic is, if you continue to bring up doping here, it will be obvious trolling.

Oh and if the above really is your opinion, then why did you accuse Samu of doping an hour ago. He hasnt been "caught in the act"? Admission that you were trying to bait others?

you just try to force to respect your fan preferences without wanting to reckon with the fact that someone can have diametrically opposed sympathies. any reproaches are suitable for this.. baiting, trolling... And since I'm the only one, I'm allegedly wrong. OK...

You just changed a thread about Samuel Sanchez to one about Contador doping.

That breaks the following rules

14. Creating threads or posts on the subject of doping in a forum other than The Clinic will result in warnings, or stiff infractions.

15. Posting off-topic in threads, or "hijacking" threads will result in warnings or infractions.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14953

You have done so ad nauseum on this forum since you joined.

Hiding behind the "oh, you are just sad that i have a different opinion to you", when you are clearly breaking the rules, is pathetic.

Breaking news, worlds is also an aim for Samu. After his tour podium.

Spain will have such a strong team. JROD, Contador, Valverde, Samu, Freire, Rojas, Ventoso ( maybe ) and 2/3 others.

I am a huge fan of Samu. I think he could podium ( i would love him to ) the TDF but at the moment i have to still stick with Evans/ Wiggins to take 1:2 and Samu then contends with Menchov, Andy and maybe Nibali/ Levi for 3rd.

Great ride in the ITT.

I would like to add Boonen ( did well on that stage in 06 ) Evans ( good pedigree ), Gerrans ( could sprint from a reduced group ), Goss/ Haussler ( could do what Boonen did in 06 ), EBH and maybe Ciolek and Farrar and if he rides Geraint could be GB's leader.

Stars would really have to align for Samu but there is a small chance he could do it. He might beat Wiggins in the mountains if they are raced tough, by enough to offset the tt losses, or he might not. Menchov, lots of people think he will fail, could happen. As for Evans, probably won't happen but he has underperformed before - 09, and maybe age will make him a tiny bit slower.

As far as Andy goes he will have to limit his losses in the mountains and put in an awesome tt.

Alone all of the above are perfectly possible. Together, its probably not going to happen.

Probably,.

man crush

Had the opportunity to snap a few fotos with Samu at last years VPV after missing out in the '09 Vuelta a Espana. This man is nothing but absolute pure class. Truly the darling of his adopted Euskal Herria. Poor guy couldn't get out of the 'pit' area because he was gracious enough to stop and autograph and pose with EVERYONE. The Shleck boys on the other hand....

Finally, a wonderful win here for Sammy. A wonderful win for Euskaltel. And a wonderful win for Euskadi.

AUPAAAAAAA!

Congratulations to Samu on his deserved victory, and thank-you for making my prediction correct (this would have to be a first). He has to be a strong contender for this years TDF; probably third favourite behind Evans and Wiggins.

No TTT will help ;)

Going to need some worker ants in that Spanish squad too.

I think Carlos Barredo has to be in the lineup. In 2010 he managed top 20 in AGR, LBL and San Sebastián and top 10 in Lombardia; he always manages to be in a decent position in the hilly races without ever being a threat (except for his win in San Sebastián 2009), and was a key domestique for the Spanish team in Stuttgart and Mendrisio.
