You are aware that Gilbert hasn't been in the top 15 once this season, right? How that can be better than Hushovd is beyond me. I remember you praising Boonen for his P-N prologue, but clearly Hushovd, who was 1 second behind Boonen, was horrible, right? But anyway, the discussion is pointless and the conclusion is that they've both been absolutely **** :p

Tour du Haut var.

Point is, at Omloop both were crap, but Phil had a flat tire right before the Taaienberg(not that he would have won or anything). At M-SR he crashed again before he could show him self.

After M-SR he overtrained him self because of his teeth problem and that's why he sucked so much in the E3 Harelbeke. I have however full confidence in him for the Ardennes classics.

A prologue is a poor indicator of one's form. Yes, I still think Boonen did a good prologue there, but it had little to do with his form(which he obviously had).

Come on, this is about the awesome man they call Samu, not some other riders. Since he's aiming for the worlds he'll come to Lombardia with a good form and we all know what that means... The first monument win for Euskaltel.

So anyone knows if Sanchez is doing the ardennes classics or opted out. Would be such a shame if he didnt ride them.

Well his legs should be thrashed after chasing as a result of his flat. That's not good. My fingers are crossed that he recovers fully over the week and kills it at LBL.

Nah, the race overall was not that hard, if that bit of flat has killed him, it would've meant he wouldn't be fresh for LBL anyway. We'll see. Don't forget AGR is not his style, never has been and since he's more a diesel than an explosive hilly rider in the last few years, he did extremely well today, it might've been his best result ever here.

13th was his top Amstel placing until today. Granted you can't compare years to other years easily, but it is very encouraging seeing him ride well in his worst of the 3 ardennes

Really sad if the mechanical cost him the race.

Lets hope he finally gets some luck and everyone else gets a mechanical in the last few km of a major mountain stage in the Tour.

It would be no less than he deserves.

it really p+sses me off..
not to mention last year's tour.
