That's why I said "...maybe they never contacted anyone because there was no point in asking questions about something that never happened." I'm just trying to point out that just because WADA didn't find any clenbuterol in the meat supply at some unknown later date doesn't prove it wasn't there in July - even though it probably wasn't.

no worries. it was rhetorical really and i wasn't trying to pick on you either. what was meant was that we're probably wasting our time working out small discrepencies in the story when most relatively objective people stopped suspending disbelief long ago. it sounds like we mostly agree.

Also, it depends on when WADA took those samples. We don't really have a timeline of when the ticket appeared.

Who said anything about a ticket/receipt? As far as I understood from the article(s), the whole WADA testing of that particular meatstore was done on the basis of where Contador's team has told them the meat was from. A ticket or receipt is not spoken of in the articles (as far as I'm aware, that is).

That can never be a proof of anything.

Well why don't You contact WADA then and tell them that. Saying Your such a Law expert. If you have nothing intelligent to add. Then I would suggest that You say nothing at all. I am merely quoting some of the point's that was detailed in the article. The World Anti Doping Agency prepares a report that takes several months of investigation. I would suggest that You read the article carefully before You make a rather inane statement such as this.

My bad, I missed that. Still, the general point stands: we don't know when WADA did this.

Contador apparently denies any such testing took place, so this should be enteresting.

I think we do have similar views on this and we probably are wasting our time but, while we are at it, I wonder if they tested to the same detection levels on the meat as they did on Contador's samples?

I guess the answer to my question is no because they didn't even conduct any tests?

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/contadors-legal-team-hit-back-at-wada-report

"In the documentation sent there is not evidence that WADA has made any kind of analysis at the butcher in question, much less at the slaughterhouses which are mentioned."

If this is true I'm not sure which is more laughable - Contador's defence or WADA's report.

This keeps getting better, now Contador, or his minders, are accusing Wada of lying about what they did to check what was likely a lie in the first place...frankly they shouln't have wasted any money on this and told him to prove his theory...while reminding him about the upcoming plasticizer test and teammate story to keep him "honest".

Well done Wada, UCI and Bert, I have taken the Rare step to ask a Medium for help understanding all this stuff. You seem to have been hung and dryed even though you havent tried to hide anything. This must be tough perhaps a more tender approach would be better to cure the problem.

Considering there is no threshold on this drug, I'm surprised that WADA even entertained visiting the butcher for this. The only matter up for debate is "Was this compound in your system?". I'm guessing that was WADA's way of playing nice with the UCI. Meanwhile, McQuaid was busy blaming WADA for the delay.

Can somebody give me the Cliff's notes of this thread?

Alberto not quite proving he has an A and B positive that should be negative=not on Tour podium and will likely retire...in a hissy fit to a town that will still name it's main square for him. He'll have a nice hotel and restaurant. See the Museauw model, Spanish style.

Spanish national hero no more.

Dave.
He will say it was just a misunderstanding: the meat probably came from Argentina/Brazil not the fine, upstanding farmers of Spain and how they shouldn't let that contaminated foreign beef into the country - Spanish farmers and citizens need to be protected = hero again.

Yes, and once he covers himself with enough bull**** they won't be able to separate him from the herd.

Isn't it great when puns are actually contextually accurate?

Dave.

Yes+++. And now an opportunist Spanish beef trade association "spokesman" is seizing the opportunity to "support" Contador's claims and bash imported South American beef at the same time. I thought this beef was sent in by a friend because of it's extra special Spanish origin and because Contador/Spaniard are picky, wasn't it? Hell, they can get South American beef at the local McDonald's.

By activists I have been informed to beware of Burger King meat as it is a product of patureland/ranches created by illeagal amazon deforestation. The things that are added to meat/poultry farmed fish, I hope that Contador will make awareness of these things(food additives Hormones, steroids, unethical animal treatment, environmental degradation etc.)

To me that is far more important for the planet than Contadors alleged guilt as a PED user.
