No I understand perfectly well how businesses work with regard to accounting.

My point is that when you look at the way this has panned out, something ain't right.

If this efficiently run business was run that well then the receipt would have been offered up right at the beginning. but it took almost a week for them to mention it?

Mind you it does stand to reason that they'd be that disorganised if you take in to account their UCI applications of the last year or two. Bank guarantee not in place two years running!!

The words P*ss up and brewery come to mind!

Seems this is good news for Contador if they have the receipt for the steak. I think that would be enough to satisfy the UCI, and the blood doping test is not recognised yet so I think it's unlikely AC will receive any type of sanction.

But I still have some doubts on the clen issue. Is this Spanish chef just a fanboy? Why has it taken so long for him to claim they still have a receipt? It seems they would have found the receipt by now if they still have it, unless they get one that is backdated....

Doesn't matter about the receipt, what about the plasticizers also allegedly found in AC's sample? Maybe they transported the meat from Spain in plastic blood bags!

there actually was enough for two meals... AC said he ate the meat on two days. the chef never said it tasted good. he just put a lot of salt on the terrible french meat!

Yep, I acknowledge that too if you reread the post.

The assertion that I'm making is the meat is a fabrication. The only meat that came from Spain was in a Blood Bag.

But sorry to disappoint You I definitely ain't crazy. And yes I can get of My backside any time and leave MY NICE HOME HERE in a quiet neighbor hood any time I like and Talk to the locals with whom I get on with very well indeed.

Sorry, but nothing new-at least to me!!as far the origin of the infamous "steak"-it's been established as the news broke the main street and was already part of the official statement:
http://www.rtve.es/mediateca/videos/20100930/contador-proclama-su-inocencia/891031.shtml
as far as the receipt to prove the purchase of the meat......does it matter? what matters is the establishment' location so the health authorities can go and check it out--IF in fact the meat was contaminated....
regardless of the dates, the receipts, the stories behind the "steak" or whatever tale they come up with- they won't take back the damage already done to Contador's reputation

So your argument is that you are just as fit as TDF riders without using PEDs? You climb 5 cat 1/HC cols over 200 km averaging in excess of 35 kmh? Show us some credentials, because I find it that very hard to believe.

If that's not the case that I think your argument is ridiculously weak " I can do a 20 kclimb..like these guys...and I don't need EPO (of course I don't climb as many as these guys or as fast...but still)"...use your head buddy...:p

I love the quote

Now everyone is looking for that receipt. Astana have it somewhere and it will turn up if they want it to," said Olalla.

I am sure that receipt will turn up somehow - if they want it to LOL

only to go ride the cols faster with less effort than pro riders... with no artificial help

the only evidence of that is extremely circumstantial; and he ain't going down on a case with no legs. Even if he is sanctioned he'll take it to the EU courts and win because there you need actual evidence

Didn't Contador say he ate the meat with the other Spanish riders. Test them too for both Plasticizer and and clenbuterol. They should show up with should all show up with clenbuterol. And if the show up for Plasticizers too. Surprise!

They don't call you slopoke for nothing.

I don't think you are right about this.

The only evidence they need is that he failed a drug test. The rules that he broke don't stipulate how the substance got into his blood... so if they decide not to accept his explanation there's no grounds for a lawsuit anywhere.

He may not get a ban, but if he does he's not going to have any real way to appeal if he accepts that the test was in fact positive. The rules don't stipulate that "accidental" doping is okay. If the test was legitimately positive... he's stuck I think.

the UCI and the WADA are not government agencies. if they want to stop him from working he can appeal to the EU courts where if there is doubts about how it got in there they can over-rule the UCI's sanction

If it came to that Contador would probably be blacklisted by the UCI.

How about Alpe D' Huez From the the Foot of the climb at the pdf portal building to the Summit of the climb at the end of the avenue del nerf. First attempt 56 minutes and 37 seconds clean. And I am not claiming that I am AS fit as Tour Riders because My Vo2 Max is only 68. But Yes the climbs are easy. If one is fit. THAT is the point I AM making is that these climbs are relatively easy. So If I find them easy then it stands to sense that the pros find them easy. From Bourg D' Oisans over the Easy Lautaret. Into Briancon. Then climb up The Col D' IZOARD. Back to Briancon over the Lautaret a second time and back into Bourg d'OISANS. Three cols over 2000 meters on the same ride. 107 Miles in 6 Hours and 25 minutes. In driving rain 3 degrees on top of the cols. Strong winds. Shivering My **** of on long descents. Was i tired after that no. Was I tired the next day no. Was I riding in the shelter of a bunch No. Did I take dope no. Was it easy yes. If You Train hard. I do not live there. So I did not get a chance to improve My NOT SO GREAT TIME ON THE ALPE. Pity because I am capable of a sub 50 min ride for that climb . Have I any thing against the Yanks. Hell Not at all. I am not that type of person. I love America and the Americans. Gee chill out dudes. In fact I plan to Go there in the Future to Ride up Mount Evans. What does that top out at 14,000 odd feet straight up from Idaho Springs. Now that would be Just Great.

But isn't it illegal to smuggle tainted meat from Spain into France?
Don't they do Customs Inspections any more? Should be records of the search.

Maybe they camouflaged the tainted meat with blocks of dark red ice.

True, but this takes a loooooong time.
First CAS, then highest court of Switzerland, then Strasbourg or Luxembourg.

this is so ridicolous. getting even more damaging for cycling. and the UCI is the biggest joke. positive on clenbuterol is positive, nobody cares whether it's from a steak or dope. it's the law. why does the UCI always change the law for certain riders? and then we have not yet covered the plasticizers that were strongly indicative of transfusions...

a peleton full of dope and lies. sad sport. but just a mirror of its ruling body.

now see customs is a valid question. how many roads between Spain and France have custom inspectors?
