Things are really moving now. Wow. Trek may be in some jeopardy here; also it may demonstrate that Armstrong really was in charge and not some mere employee if the documents show he influenced Trek to go after Lemond.

Anyone have a figure as to how much of Trek Armstrong owns? I bet Lemond knows.

I think is partial-confession-time: yeah doped but not with the taxpayer's money, never owned the team, never brought in drugs to the U.S. everything took place in Girona, kristin never knew etc etc.

He's adamant he won't do that (which is something of a confession in itself). I wonder if Armstrong will stop talking to journalists now. It almost seems like the latest releases of information in the press is designed to rebutt Armstrong's statements.

That will never happen...his ego wouldn't allow it!!

Still can't access the article. See the sticky thread.

Try to distrupt this thread rather than the sticky thread, putting off topic things in the sticky defeats the object of it being links only.

Ego aside that admission would cost him alot. Current endorsement receipts are going away probably as we discuss LA's current situation. I can't see typically risk-adverse corporate marketeer's enjoying this ongoing uncertainty. My guess is the number of Michelob Ultra commercials you'll see after the Tour will be...er, few.
Any future "guaranteed" endorsement income will be in jeopardy. Most importantly (and you'll think this is nothing) he'll become a joke in the US. Letterman and Leno will use him for a cheap bit or two and he'll disappear from the Celebrity circuit. Maitre's de all over the world will no longer hold tables for him; unless he buys the restaurant. He won't like it.

Question: what kind of documents would LeMond have?

Maybe Greg has to supply info on the Lemond Brand bicycles he was given by Trek. I believe Greg sold many of those bikes also. Not sure what Greg used the proceeds for - maybe his tax forms will show...

It would appear obvious that the point of my post clearly was not to disrupt anything, but to point out to the poster that the link was not working.

Exactly how is a post pointing out that a link does not work in any way approch being off-topic?

Did you find a "Junior Moderator Badge" in your cereal this morning?

oh i know not deliberately, just saying, try not to put stuff like that in the links thread cos others see it and they start posting and it all goes to pot. apologies as to how i worded it.

can i suggest you try using a browser other than IE. things might work better and its an unsecure pile of tosh.. ;)

That was a solid line right there.

Maybe Armstrong has forgotten that Novitsky didn't get his 'Federal investigator' badge from his cereal...

Are you saying the 'Armstrong lead teams' mentioned in the quote were riding LeMond brand bicycles?

According to tonight's WSJ article, Greg has emails with the head of Trek, plus transcripts of a phone conversation with the same guy from 2004. I'm guessing these would tend to show that Lance had a lot of pull with Trek, and was not "just another rider" with no power. Just guessing though.

Where was the annual inspirational Nike advert this year that comes out just before Tour time?

He is gone - Floyds best lead out appears to be letting Lemond be the one to drive the nails in to the coffin.

I've seen one (Nike commerical) a bunch of times. LA is riding in the mountains with a montage of voices in the background .

Had to bite my tongue when I read some user quoting Landis lawyers' propaganda by saying Kirstin Armstrong's lawyer "stopped her from answering".

It was spin of course. Your lawyer can't stop someone from saying something - they can only advise.
You are almost correct BPC- but it wasn't Kristins lawyer, it was Tim Herman, who is Lances lawyer ;)

Here it is especially for you:
During the period of time that you were living in France or Spain and with Mr. Armstrong, did you ever observe him using any substances to aid his cycling?" asked DiBoise.

Complying with strict instructions from Herman, Kristin Armstrong did not respond to that or 18 other questions, many concerning her ex-husband's past associations, statements, or experiences with drugs.

One thing im stunned by, is these allegations are now daily, new developments every day. A google news search on lance is now just miles and miles of doping stories and fresh allegations, subpoenas etc.

How is he getting up every morning and riding his bike in the tour. I just cant fathom how he is doing it. I dont understand how anyone can be so thick skinned and have such an ego to the point where they can get up and look people in the face and ride. Every rider in the peloton must just be looking at him thinking "youre f'ed mate"

to have all this **** going on and still ride the bike and smile at everyone. I actually fear for his health and mentality. I think at some point he is going to break, and when it happens its going to be massive. It wouldnt surprise me any more to wake up the morning and hear on the news that he'd topped himself. You just cant have all this going on and ignore it like he's doing.
