There lies the problem. This year had three legit top contenders and still kind of sucked til the last stage.
Historically the Giro is a strong number 2 in GT, and is still considered by traditionalists, but with the lack of Italian talent with the exception of Nibali over the last 20 years, it’s now 3rd in terms of draw. The Vuelta seems to draw more talent and though it’s in a meme worthy, so bad it’s hilarious type of way, La Vuelta never fails to be somewhat entertaining. It’s where you have 3 Jumbo riders go rogue, TTTs at night in the rain, stages nullified at the last minute because of mudslides, crazy weather; areas that are literal deserts, Superman Lopez jumping in the car, Movistar tactics, Peak Marc Soler, goat tracks, and legendary TDF champion Oscar Pereiro on the podium.
It’s totally absurd but it’s so damn entertaining. It’s also a farewell to another GT season so I savor it a little more than the others, realizing that I’ve spent 9 weeks over the last 4 months watching 3 races, and now have to wait 8 months before I do it again.
pogacar is flying in training, he is in the best shape of his life regarding this part of the season for Lombardia, next year he will break all records with a strengthened team

I would see Hirschi in the cobble classics to. In Renewi Tour he was very strong.

If Pogačar wins the Tour and two monuments like in 2021, I would already be very happy.
If he wins the Worlds or the Olympics on top of that it would be a perfect season, arguably the best one since Merckx stopped riding.
More than this is not realistic.

If Pogacar targets the Tour again in 2024 (which is looking very likely), I hope he starts his season at PN or TA. Forget about starting the spring peak in February with races like Jaen, Andalucia, or UAE Tour. Yates can clean up the UAE Tour anyway. A month and a half peak from March to late April should be good enough. It gives him a good chance at two/three Monuments again (MSR is still really hard cause he's not as punchy as MVDP) and also gives him a good chance to go for the Ardennes triple again.
IMO, Pogacar's 2024 calendar should be:
PN/TA (either one's fine. If he's going for TA, he can also go for Strade)

Sounds good and plausible but really hope he does Paris Roubaix and then skips Amstel/Flèche instead.
Agree that he should tick off a one week race win in June.

If he can beat Vingegaard on half the mountain stages breaking one wrist, maybe he can beat him in all the mountain stages if he breaks both wrists.
