Doubtful. FW looks wide open this year, it is not a race that suits him that well as he got the win last year when on great form but did not dominate the Mur de Huy. Having got it on his palmares I think he will frequently skip it.Will he show up in FW? He will be a massive favourite there.
The only one ever. Only Merckx and Coppi have ever won the Giro-Tour double and any monument in the same season. So Pog to win Liege, Giro and Tour, who is the last to do so? In one season? Merckx?
Really? Hadn't heard anything about that at allNew trainer!
He is the great one afterallSo Pog to win Liege, Giro and Tour,

Merckx 1972 season will never be eclipsed. Giro-Tour double and 3 monuments is just insane no matter what era.
no disrespect to Merckx ofc but doing that in 2024 has to be 10x harder with the specializing which is in cycling now its almost different sports from different fields of expertise. That plus also cycling is 10x bigger so the competition level has to be harder. Not that I really believe it but if he wins Liege+ Giro+Tour+WC+Lombardia, it would be pretty close.
The Olympics is also on his calendar last I checkedNot that I really believe it but if he wins Liege+ Giro+Tour+WC+Lombardia, it would be pretty close.
FW may be wide open but still bet it gets won with a 50k solo the way this year is going.Doubtful. He didn't dominate? He was bossing the climb waiting for someone to attack to just counter attack. It was a very easy win, however is not a race that suits his main strenghts.Doubtful. If he did that then there would be zero doubt that it would be the best season ever. Not that I really believe it but if he wins Liege+ Giro+Tour+WC+Lombardia, it would be pretty close.
The standard way to win is hardly called dominating. In fact the gap to those behind was much smaller than in most editions of Fleche. He didn't dominate? He was bossing the climb waiting for someone to attack to just counter attack. It was a very easy win, however is not a race that suits his main strenghts.
Having just rewatched the highlights I would concede you were right and it was a lot more dominant than I had remembered it being. He didn't dominate? He was bossing the climb waiting for someone to attack to just counter attack. It was a very easy win, however is not a race that suits his main strenghts.
But he dominate. It was an easy win, a lot like Valverde in his prime. The standard way to win is hardly called dominating. In fact the gap to those behind was much smaller than in most editions of Fleche.
It's a lot of made up facts. It's Pog, so it was easy. But he dominate. It was an easy win, a lot like Valverde in his prime.
The definition of finding ways to discredit each and every day. It's a lot of made up facts. It's Pog, so it was easy.
Nevermind the barely existent time gaps or the body language.
It's impossible to please everyone. If he wins 80k solo it's boring, if he wins with 1 second he barely made it across the line first and wasn't dominating AKA washed. As for FW, at least from my perspective, it seems he did just enough to win.The definition of finding ways to discredit each and every day.
It has nothing to do with entertainment and everything with just blurting buzzwords out when actually metrics state the contrary. It's impossible to please everyone. You hit the nail on the head with this post. Some people are just always gonna complain, I guess. Finding new ways to do it. They switch narrative each time, as you are alluding to.It's impossible to please everyone. He would've choked in the dust behind Valverde's back wheel when he sails past him.But he dominate. It was an easy win, a lot like Valverde in his prime.
Fresh single murito is probably one of Pogacars worst efforts. People always talking about high, long mountain stages but there he's still #2 in the world normally, but slightly off on a single short murito finish a heap of dudes suddenly beat him.He would've choked in the dust behind Valverde's back wheel when he sails past him.
Prime Ala and Roglic would beat him comfortably there too...
