Pogacar put 1:10 on Lipowitz.
Clearly below his level.
Question is did he have more in the tank or not?
Well, they clearly didn‘t go full speed most of the time. On the other hand, Vingegaard did most of the work and Pogačar couldn‘t drop him, so he‘s not as dominant right now. But in the Alps, cool weather and rain showers are in the forecast, so Pogačar should have no issues there.

They didn’t go full speed, that is why. They didn’t keep a strong sustained tempo all the time because Pogacar followed Vingegaard closely. Vinge didn’t push 100% when he was ahead. If Almeida was there they would have been even faster.

This tells me this is an off day from Pog.
I said it at stage 15 he looks tired. After stage 15 Pog himself said he was just coming off a cold, runny dose, sore throat (+the crash). As long as he isn’t about to crack it is all good and we may see some form on La Plagne. That or he is being very smart and starting to save energy for the Vuelta.

Seeing the last 2 MTF's, I don't think the gap between the 2 is as big as Hautacam suggested.

And honestly, I don't think Pogacar would've gain 2 minutes without Narvaez' insane acceleration on this stage. And I don't think Narvaez would accelerate like that with Almeida still in the race.
I agree. I think Narvaez ruined Vingegaard's legs and made him explode later.

Too bad Vingegaard had an off-day on Hautacam.
Pogacar has declined to Vingegaard’s level and if the trajectory continues, and considering that the last two mountain stages fits Vingegaard perfectly, we might see Pog in trouble. Still 4:15 should not be possible to win back, unless Pog crumbles completely.

When Pogacar overtakes him, they're not evenly matched. When it was the other way around, Vingegaard was far superior, even though he didn't droppe of Pogacar in other stages.

Pogacar was also stronger in the time trial, and I think that's because he pushed Vingegaard to the limit the day before.

I think being stronger at the start and the importance of that in the race aren't valued as much.

In 2022, after Granon, Pogacar was in this situation.
